We have been to Venice six times before but this was the best apartment we have stayed in - spacious, well-appointed and warm (important for February!). We will try to stay there again when we return - which we will while our son lives in the city.

I stayed with my friend for 3 nights and we had an amazing experience! The room and the hotel itself were very clean, the guys at the reception kind and welcoming! The buffet breakfast was tasty and to everyone's needs. It is situated at a very central position to everything! I strongly recommend it and if again in Venice, I...

We stayed for a week in a 2 bed apartment with a bath. Very comfortable and well situated for easy walking around the whole of Venice. Beds were very comfortable. It was well heated. There is a drip coffee machine but no filters available in Venice. Normal Italian coffee machine too. Hot water is not quite hot enough.

The hotel is between Rialto's bridge and Saint Mark square, so perfect for location. Breakfast at the hotel offer plenty of choices, which was included on the price of my room. Staff friendly and welcoming. Definitely a good option if in Venice.

I was fully satisfied with everything from the service, cleanliness and the location. It is located in center of Venice, very close to shops and café and also the station. Great customer service, receptionist was very friendly and helpful as well as speaks English fluently. Overall we had a great experience.

Perfect family apartment and in a perfect location. Right on the junction of 2 canals. Great balcony and a great apartment. Couldn't figure out how to use the washing machine but we were only there a few days so didn't bother to ask for help as we had one at our next stop anyway.

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
