The room was upgraded to a bigger room without any extra charge. However, there was no lift; which i was mentally not prepared for. Also, as i had a kid aged 6, i was asked to pay Euro 10 extra for breakfast. In Rome and Florence, seeing the age of child, it was offered compliementary. The good part was the...

Near to supermarket, restaurants and places of interests. Hotel is just steps away from Rialto Bridge. The arrangement by hotel was excellent and we were given a very nice apartment right in the centre of beautiful Venice.

We have just returned from a three night stay at the Hotel da Bruno and felt compelled to leave a message to help others know what to expect. Firstly, the location is perfect, right in the centre of Venice mid way between Rialto and St Marks square and in close proximity to a great number of restaurants, bars and shops....

Loved our apartment with canal view, brilliant location close to the Rialto Bridge, it was very clean and had everything we needed. Hotel da Bruno were so helpful, they looked after us so well, even walking us to our apartment. Only slight downside being right on canal was noisy, boat horns etc but very entertaining and lovely to just sit...

What a lovely apartment. Beautifully clean with everything that we needed for our stay in the heart of Venice. The apartment was a short distance from Rialto bridge so it was in a superb position. The canal view from all the window kept us continuously amused with boats passing day and night. The skill of the boatmen was fun to...

A great location deep Into Venice that allows you to experience Venice away from all the day tripping tourist and cruise boat crowds. Has any store that you could imagine just a short walk away. Room was very large with enough accommodation space to hold a very large family. Large Living room, large free space between rooms. Large kitchen with...

The apartment is huge, well equipped - hair dryer, kitchen with coffee maker! etc. It's location is perfect, 5 to 10 min to Rialto or Saint Marks Square on foot, the area is nice, many restaurants and a supermarket nearby. The staff at Hotel da Bruno is friendly and helpful. The only downside, is that there is no clear policy...

We stayed in Chaming Apartments, across the way from Hotel Da Bruno, it was wonderful having apartment accommodation with more room and the added benefit of the staff @ Hotel Da Bruno to immediately assist 24hrs with any queries? Once you get your bearings you find how well positioned this property is.

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
