We couldn't ask for more. Fantastic view from our bedroom, amazing breakfast each morning, smiling staff...all 10-15mins walk along the water to San Marco's square. The room isnt big but the small details and quality amenities more than made up for it.

Stayed for 2 nights. Rooms are a little small but fine anyhow. Bathroom nice and great views of either the lagoon or towards st marks. Breakfast decent and helpful staff. Good location for the main attractions and handy for water transport. Arsenale to the airport 15 euros each. Shared water taxi on the way in is far quicker and less...

Had a room on the third floor, was very pleasant with a lovely view of the lagoon. All the staff were very pleasant and friendly especially the front office staff, Gian Marie and Nico! Easy to find and well priced, would definitely recommend and return!

We achieved a good winter rate and stayed 3 nights. Immediately on arrival we knew we had made the right choice. Our room was clean, warm and immaculate. Breakfast was good (bread rolls always a little stale). There was though a good choice, Noteworthy was the very pleasant waitress. Location is a plus with a nice stroll to San Marco....

Location wise is quite good as it is 3 minutes walk from the Arsenale stop. From the airport it takes about 1 hour boat ride. The check in was fast and efficient and the bellboy is very helpful. The receptionist helped us to book some fantastic restaurant for dinner - they managed to get us a table eventhough it is...

This accommodation is quirky in that the rooms are modelled after various ships. Our room was on the second floor and being at the far end of the Grand Canal, a fair distance from St Mark's square. I have some mobility issues but the bridges along the canal had ramps which were OK to use. The Hotel staff were thoroughly...

We stayed for 3 nights in January for a birthday weekend trip to Venice. The hotel is located 2 minutes walk from the vaparretto stop Arsenale. It takes 1 hour 10 minutes direct from the airport and is the most civilised and relaxing airport transfer ever. We arrived late afternoon and saw the most spectacular sunset as we sailed round...

A bucintoro is a Venetian Barge and all rooms are named after boats ours was Jolina a racing yacht. We'd got a Super deal and had upgraded to a suite which was perfect and had 3 windows directly overlooking the lagoon. Well worth the upgrade. Made to look like a boat it was warm and snug but with windows you...

The most little charming hotel one could imagine! Perfectly situated at the water front where the ferry from the airport arrives. 5-10 minutes walk to the Marcus square. A bit tiny room but very comfortable bed. Limited continental breakfast buffet, nothing for a glutton. Friendly staff. Neat and tidy.

The eloquent decor of each room is inspired by a different merchant ship from long ago. We found the staff to be professional and the amenities of high class. Above all, we especially enjoyed the amazing views!

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
