Excellent hotel for our first time in Venice. Stefano, Anthony, Marco & all reception staff are very responsive & easy to communicate with. The staff are on top of things. Overall service feels personalized.
The breakfast room is quite small for the hotel, I suggest you go before 8am to ensure seating. Breakfast choices are varied, but don't change much day to day. Breakfast staff are professional and formal. It was too cold for outdoor dining, but I imagine will be fabulous on warmer weather.
Their website is quite accurate as to hotel location, interior decor, breathtaking lagoon views, and convenience to taxi & vaporetto stops. Tranquil but still lively location, only a short walk to San Marco square. Nearby are a grocery store, numerous restaurants and shops.
We reserved a Family Suite, with a nice sitting area between the 2 bedrooms. The mini-bar had good snacks and drinks. Complementary water bottles were much appreciated. Mattresses are firm but very comfortable. Room temperature was comfortable, they upped the thermostat heat setting upon request. Daily housekeeping staff are very professional. Bathrooms of a good size, good Wi-fi.
The staff arranged for a free water taxi (glass factory-sponsored) to Murano--we were dropped off to a glass factory where we saw a glass-blowing demonstration then escorted through their glass-art gallery. (Tip: You can just as easily take the public vaporetto to Murano and explore on your own. We took the free taxi as there was a public transport strike that morning.)
Upon our checkout, hotel staff (I think Anthony) helped print our flight boarding passes. It was a little hectic but he was very gracious.
I only have good things to say about the hotel, staff and overall hotel experience. Hotel Bucintoro sets a high standard for boutique hotels.

Dear kellybee7, First of all I would like to thank you, also on behalf of all the staff of the Bucintoro, for the kind words used towards us in this review published on Tripadvisor and for the time you dedicated to writing it. Of all the positive notes you have written in my opinion one of the most important is the accuracy of the information reported on our site: we do not tell falsehoods to our customers, rather we prefer to be honest and not write what we are not or what we cannot give. We are happy that the combination of our work, our position and what we can offer, has contributed to making your stay live up to your rightfully high expectations. We hope that you can return to Venice and choose our hotel again, we would be truly proud!!!! Best regards and once again a sincere big thank you from every member of the staff together with a big wish for a wonderful 2025!! Stefano - Front Office Manager

From the warm welcome at check-in to the ongoing conversations as we came and went, the staff asked if we had everything we needed for a memorable stay in Venice. Stefano in particular was a real problem-solver… arranging to have my sweater cleaned after a seagull mistook it for a toilet (returned good as new in six hours!) and opening our room when I left for breakfast without the key. Marco too saved the day (night…) when a fierce wind and rain storm interrupted plans for dinner on the other side of Venice. And the staff in the breakfast room were terrific about learning and anticipating our preferences for coffee and the buffet each morning during our week-long stay. The exceptionally attentive staff at Hotel Bucintoro is the primary reason that this was our fourth stay there during our travels to Venice over the past ten years.

We had a great stay during the low season (mid December). A family of three , we shared the top floor suite with terrace, which was still enjoyable even though the weather was foggy most of the time. The suite also came with a shower and a large spa-like bathtub. Very good breakfast buffet in the morning. Staff always helpful and friendly. The location is great for the view of the grand canal and for proximity to the Biennale, but you need to walk 15 minutes to reach San Marco. Highly recommended overall

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Bucintoro in Venice for two nights at the end of August. The film festival at the Biennale was about to start. Without a car for the first time, we did not want to stay at the Lido but also not in the midst of the maddening crowds. Hotel Bucintoro proved to be the perfect choice. We booked the corner panorama room. The views from all windows were like a painting of Venice and you were part of it. The large sized room is air conditioned and sound proofed so very quiet, despite its position directly on the waterfront. The buffet breakfast is excellent. It is a 7 minute walk to St Marco’s and the Doge Palace and the main arteries. The Carnevale area with its restaurants and coffee shops as well as beautiful parks and wide walkways along the water begins just around the corner. The hotel manager, Stefano Fiore, proved very helpful - and all advice was offered with a sense of humour! Before our arrival, I had asked him to book us water taxis for pick up and departure. They came like clockwork. His advice to change the location of our pre-booked rental car pick up from Venice Mestre to the Piazza Roma which is able to be reached directly by water taxi from the hotel was worth its weight in gold.
Negatives: We did not like the very high bath tub with shower. Personally I would replace it with a walk-in shower.
Cupboard hanging space is scarce. A few, from the period, clothes hooks on the walk would be very much appreciated.
In summation: highly recommend. Hope to return.

A great hotel, everything is perfect here: the location is good, central but not in the middle of the hustle and bustle, the view of the lagoon is fantastic, when you look out of the window there is always something to see. The hotel is small and personal and all the staff are absolutely great. Everyone tries to do everything well and to give guests a pleasant stay, they are incredibly nice. The rooms are small but well furnished with very soundproof windows. A large suitcase is a bit difficult to fit in, travel bags are better. Breakfast is very good, the breakfast room is cozy but a bit small. There are enough restaurants outside. In the evening you can have a nice glass of wine in the hotel. Good value for money.
We have been to Venice several times, but we will definitely come back here.

Our stay at this hotel was absolutely amazing! So glad we chose to book in this hotel after reading all the positive reviews. Superb view from room 302. Room itself was clean, with a comfortable bed, great amenities provided like toiletries and slippers! We were especially grateful for the powerful air conditioning in the room, which was a lifesaver during the mid-August heatwave! Great location too in a quieter area but a short walk to attractions. It was also very convenient to have ferry terminal right in front and can hop on anytime if you have the city pass.

Staff were all very helpful and welcoming. Good breakfast, much wider selection than we expected. There was a breakfast area in the lobby, but we also brought the breakfast to the room to enjoy after selecting from the buffet, or you can probably request for room service. The stay was definitely worth the price, considering the typically high costs in Venice, not every hotel offers this level of service and comfort in similar prices. It's my second visit in Venice, and this stay definitely exceeded my expectation.

What made our stay even more unforgettable was getting engaged in front of the stunning view from the hotel. It was the perfect, romantic setting for such a special moment.

The Bucintoro has the perfect location in Arsenae, almost directly opposite the Arsenale vaporetto station and Alilaguna (airport connection).
The beds are very comfortable, wooden floors (which was important to us). Room 303, which offers a beautiful view of the city, has a bathtub for relaxing after a long sightseeing program in Venice. In the breakfast room you can end the day with a glass of wine in the evening. The breakfast is perfect to start the day, fried eggs, fresh cappuccino, dolcis, a small selection of cold cuts. You can enjoy the view of the lagoon while having breakfast. The staff is incredibly nice, tries to fulfill all wishes, you really feel welcome. Many thanks especially to Murat, Toni, Marco and Stefano. We would love to come back.

Situated right on the front next to the Naval Museum and literally 30 seconds from Arsenale Vaporetto water bus stop and 10 minutes walk to St Marks Square, the hotel is in an excellent location. (Incidentally the blue line Alilagona boat goes twice an hour to the airport from Arsenale. Takes 1 hour 10 minutes and costs 15 Euros. Wish we'd known this on the inbound journey instead of paying 140 Euros for a water taxi!). Our room was clean and tidy, they all have a naval theme. Not much in the way of storage. Had to leave our clothes out in piles on the ledges behind the two small sofa/chairs. The safe was small - we could only just fit our iPads in with a lot of jiggling. A laptop would not fit. I've seen this a lot, safes designed for a time before tablets - need bigger safes please! Bathroom was great with 2 hooks on the wall (fantastic) and a very powerful shower with additional hand held so full marks. Lots of fluffy towels. Big comfortable bed. Breakfast was usual buffet and all good. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I would certainly recommend this hotel for a stay in Venice.

Hotel Bucintoro was excellent from beginning to end. I chose it because, as a family of 3 with a teenager, we could get a reasonably priced suite with enough room and a little bit of privacy for us all. Our son slept on a day bed in the main room while we had an adjoining bedroom. There were two shower areas and a a fantastic private rooftop terrace where we could look over to San Marco as well as to the mouth of the lagoon. The bedroom had a very cute porthole that you could open to admire the view. The suite was beautifully decorated and came with Roberto Cavilli bathroom products. The breakfast was good with some lovely baked goods, including some savoury options.

The service was great. When we arrived, they organised for us to have wine and nibbles on our terrace as a welcome. The concierge also gave us a fantastic meal recommendation when we explained the kind of dinner we were after.

The hotel is just across the bridge from the Arsenal vaporetto stop so public transport access was super easy. Being in the Castello area of Venice, the hotel is slightly out of the main tourist area of Venice (we are really only talking an extra five minutes of walking) and it just meant the whole atmosphere was just that much quieter.

The Bucintoro is a hotel in a prime location and in good condition. The stylishly furnished rooms have a wonderful view of the city center and the lagoon. The reception at the reception is uncomplicated and courteous - simply professional. The front office manager, Mr. Stefano Fiore, does his job with a lot of commitment and overview and skillful small talk. In this attractive hotel ambience you simply feel comfortable and welcome.

They do not have a traditional bar, but there is alcohol available. If you wanted a late night drink I am sure they would get it for you. There are several fine restaurants and bars within a 10-15 minute walk. Hotel Metropole is just 3 bridges away and has a great bar.

Yes there is a small bar that will stay open through the night porter service. If you come out of hotel turn left over the bridge and then turn left down the first street there are loads of bars and restaurants open until late. It is in a superb location.
