Lovely place with comfort, character and great service. Helpful and attentive staff. Clean, comfortable room and tasty breakfast with good coffee. Awesome location to anything Venetian! VERY close to restaurants & great gelato!

This was a sightseeing trip for one of our group (others had been before). Central location was therefore more important than facilities and it more than met our needs. Ideally situated close to St Mark's Square, wonderfully attentive front desk (thank you Alessio!), tasty breakfasts and characterful surroundings. For the price it was top notch. One of our group had... More

Stayed here 2 nites as part of a Rick Steves tour. Highlights are the location (short walk to everything), comfy bed, good breakfast buffet. Lowlights are the lack of elevators (but the staff will help you), and the tiny bathrooms..if you are obese you will definitely struggle here. But all in all it was a decent place to stay. Tip:... I was not expecting much for a two star but it was clean and staff friendly. Great location in between Marco Polo and Rialto bridge. Take Rialto bridge when arriving as less crowded. You will get lost but remember certain focal points like rialto Bridge or a church and within two hours you will be ok. Hotel does not have... More

Had a very good experience here. The staff were all very friendly and my single room was comfortable enough with television and double bed. Only slight complaint was that the bathroom was tiny. Otherwise the hotel offered a good complimentary breakfast with a great selection. The hotel is perfectly situated in Venice. With some of Venice's biggest attractions only a... More

My husband and I spent three nights at this hotel. We were really pleased with the location which was so close to San Marco and The Rialto. The staff where very helpful and friendly. Delightful, traditional breakfast, which was consistently replenished. Very clean. Reasonable sized room, no larger required as only there to sleep and shower. Would definitely recommend.

I've stayed here on a trip of Italy of twenty days, very nice staff in the evening, and excellent breakfast from 7:00 am. Perfect location to visit Venice. The room was small but well organized and clean. Thank you

Excellent location allows easy access to important sites and shopping. Safe area. Clean. Good breakfast. Only problem was shower water. I took an early morning shower and night shower. Both times the water changed from just right to cold to burning hot and warm without touching faucet. No air conditioning or fan so very warm rooms for sleeping. Free WiFi... More

A lovely little hotel conveniently located between Piazza San Marco and Rialto. All very comfortable. Coming back from a rainy night, it was a pleasure to walk up to the little bar and have an Amaro & friendly conversation. The breakfast is nicer than most, having panini piccoli on attractive trays, warm scrambled eggs for American taste, and good pastries,... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
