We loved our stay here. The room was clean and comfortable and had a massive bathroom. We loved its character. It is situated in a street with lots of designer shops but a short walk away from main attractions and the water bus. Hotel staff were warm, welcoming and helpful. Great Buffett breakfast.

This hotel was perfect for us, with a great location, nice bar, fantastic breakfast and lovely staff. The roof top terrace is also a lovely spot but a little too chilly whilst we were there. The room was a decent size with coffee making facilities and a really nice bathroom containing a bath and overhead shower, toiletries and a hairdryer were provided and there was plenty of storage space. There is construction work going on in the vicinity of the hotel but it only disturbed us on one of the three mornings, although we weren’t in the room that much. There was no noise in the evenings in fact it was one of the quietest hotel rooms I’ve slept in. I’d have no hesitation going back to stay again.

We stayed at this hotel in early March. It was a wonderful experience. We arrived from the train station and water taxied to the hotel (60 euro). It was low tide, so they could not reach the dock. It was a very small walk to the hotel with our luggage. No problem! We were placed in a room with a small loft. My children (11yo and 9yo) were over the moon excited! The room was beautiful. Loved the bathroom layout and loved the toiletry soaps. The room did get a little warm but we were able to open the door to the room to cool down a bit. There was construction going on. We did hear it in the morning but we were up and ready to get going, so it didn't bother us. The location of the hotel was fantastic. I loved that I could easily walk to St. Mark's Square early in the morning before the rest of my family was up. Easy to get to major attractions and easy to get to the Vaporetto. The breakfast was the best breakfast we had during our whole stay in Italy. My kids loved the fresh squeezed OJ and the pancakes. My older daughter has celiac and they had pre-packaged gluten free options for crackers/muffins. Plus they had hard boiled eggs. Plus, when I asked, they were able to tell me/find out what meats and cheeses were gluten free. Really great service! There is a ATM in the lobby of the hotel, which was convenient. We used the hotel transport to get to the airport after checkout (180 euro). It was well worth it for us. Taxi to car service, Car service to airport. They helped with our luggage and our driver walked us all the way in to the airline check-in. FYI, we arrived 3 hours prior to departure and got to our gate 10 minutes into boarding for our flight. Check in at Delta was pretty slow and security at Marco Polo was single line and immensely slow. Give yourself enough time. Overall loved this hotel, breakfast and location!!

Thanks for your detailed review and we are happy that you had such a nice experience at our hotel: everyday we work hard to make our guests live an unforgettable experience, so your comment is a pleasant recognition of our effort. After two very difficult years, with our budgets blocked due to Covid, now finally we are renovating again to improve our services but the works are carried out at times that do not create discomfort for our guests. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you again in the near future. Best regards Gianni Serandrei - owner

It’s hard to understand how this hotel has received such great reviews! Firstly however, the location and appearance of the hotel was amazing, unfortunately this is all this hotel had to offer. We checked in and were shown to our room, which unfortunately was located on the top floor right next to the lift, so the noise was horrendous. Not only was the noise from the lift a problem, we were greeted with construction work on the roof outside our window. The following morning we complained and the staff were happy to change our room, construction work was being done due to a ‘disease’ which I imagine must have been aspestos. We unpacked in our second room and noticed ants absolutely everywhere, we went to reception again and complained. We were greeted with, we can either spray the ants or pack up and we will move you rooms again, which with a child and a toddler was not ideal. Finally, third time lucky we arrived in our final room, which was pleasant, however still had the same construction work which you could seem to hear all over the hotel. I understand that construction work has to go ahead, however a little heads up would have been appreciated! This was our first trip to Venice, and the hotel Saturnia put a massive dampener on it! We would love to return to the city but this hotel will be the very bottom of our list!

Response from Hotel Saturnia International, Proprietario at Hotel Saturnia & International Venezia

We're sorry you reported such a bad time. The first room assigned is much appreciated by our customers, it is true it is close to the lift ( and this for some people is a plus ), but perhaps you are particularly sensitive because never before has any customer reported annoyance with noise from it. As for the second room, the following morning I went myself to check it, in there you had allowed yourself to move the beds by crawling all over the parquet, but I found no trace of any ants. I don't doubt what you say, but I think the problem wasn't so dramatic if I haven’t found any… however I couldn't verify the problem while I found everything absolutely in order except the bed and again the parquet. Concerning the works, this is something we can’t sometime escape from, I apologize if we disturbed you, but we had to change and renovate a room ... always bearing in mind that the works were done during the day and not during the weekends as well as everywhere. Least, but not last, regarding the asbestos, this is pure slander and frankly I don't even know how such a thing could have occurred to you. Indeed, I invite you to modify this part of the review which is unfounded and slanderous. I remain available Greta – Zoe Serandrei owning manager

We had such a lovely time at the Hotel Saturnia in Venice. From the start, staff were very polite, friendly and helpful - I was very impressed. The room was very nicely decorated and the Rituals shampoo/shower gel/soap etc were a great touch. The breakfast buffet was fantastic, and we enjoyed a night cap in the bar each evening. It was really easy to get dropped off nearby for our water taxi, and the location was great for some of the main tourist attractions eg St Mark’s Basilica. Will definitely stay here again when we return to Venice.

Thanks for sharing your experience on Tripadvisor and we are delighted that you appreciated the service we provided you at our Hotel and Il Caravellino Bar. Our hotel has a private peer but sometimes, especially in this period of exceptionally low tides, the water taxi is unable to enter the small canal and so guests are dropped off a few steps from us (1 minute on foot). We look forward to welcoming you again in the near future. Warm regards from all of us Gianni Serandrei - owner
