A perfect location. Just a few minutes to St Marks and one bridge to cross when walking to the vaporetto (Water Bus Line N°1) for the Grand Canal and train station. The staff were knowledgeable, approachable and able to offer advice and recommendations. They were happy to chat about life in Venice which made our stay even more enjoyable. Breakfast was more than ample and we were asked within minutes of sitting down if we wanted tea or coffee etc. The rooms were sound proof and well furnished and the showers worked with no fuss. Tea and coffee was available on every floor with sitting areas with sofas and comfortable chairs. We arrived mid-day but, before we had time to unpack we had to change rooms because the air conditioning refused to turn on - it was stuck on warm. Someone arrived within minutes of calling reception to fix it and we were moved, with no fuss, to another room. We were very impressed in the way the staff managed the situation. Our first night highlight was sitting in the roof garden with an exceedingly well made cocktail. My last night highlight was listening to the gondoliers serenading their passengers on the canal just below our room. It is difficult to leave Venice, and equally difficult to leave this hotel.

Lovely hotel, great location 2 minutes from St. Marks, very good breakfast, friendly and helpful staff. Nice surprise to learn that they can organise free return water taxi to Murano. Special mention to the wonderful Valeria at breakfast.

We stayed for 3 nights as part of our honeymoon in Italy and stayed in a junior suite. The room was fantastic with a lovely view overlooking the canal. On the first night we had an incredible meal in the restaurant. The staff were friendly and helpful. Drinks were great value. The breakfast was delicious and a super variety too!

My wife and I arrived in Venice late in the night. It was not our first trip to beloved Italy. In addition, it was accompanied by a visit to a Depeche Mode concert. So I had booked the best and different style hotels for our vacation. And the first one was Saturnia & International Venezia. I must say that arriving in Venice itself is always a wow, especially when you are driven through the night canals by a private water taxi. And it brought us to the second, "water" entrance of the hotel. Even before our room, we pulled out our phones and started taking pictures of the ancient interiors of this Palazzo. But when we entered the suite, we were literally speechless. Huge by European standards, the suite consisted of a large bedroom-cabinet, a large hallway-cloakroom, a large bathroom and a separate shower. A chandelier made of Murano glass hung on the ceiling. Of course, the suite had everything that is supposed for 5* hotels (although Saturnia has four of them so far): safe, air conditioning, bathrobes and slippers, TV and coffee and tea, full minibar, free wi-fi. The windows overlooked a small canal and in the mornings we could hear the gondoliers singing and the sound of their oars hitting the water. It was a total delight! The hotel in this palazzo has been there since 1906 and is owned by the same family. I noticed that the owner of the hotel was in her office next to the reception desk every day. This is probably why this hotel is in many ways superior to 5* chain hotels where everything is standard and sometimes boring. The hotel also has a Caravelle restaurant, but breakfasts were held in another space overlooking a cozy courtyard. This hotel offers guests a good and varied breakfast, even with prosecco, although we usually expect this drink in 5* hotels. I personally missed the saltines and the variety of cheeses. The hotel staff were all, without exception, exceptionally friendly to all guests. They were always ready to help - whether it was making a cup of coffee for breakfast or advising on Venice. The hotel has a gorgeous central location. It's a 7-10 minute walk to Piazza San Marco, 10-15 minutes to the Rialto Bridge, and 5 minutes to the nearest Vaporetto stop. To summarize I would like to say that Saturnia & International exceeded all our expectations! It is a luxurious and at the same time very cozy hotel with a great location and staff who love their job and know what guests need. Recommended!!!

Hotel Saturnia in Venice is the most beautiful characterful historic hotel. Relaxed, friendly, informative and professional staff. Particularly Gianni and his younger enthusiastic assistant manager. It’s of course easy to get all of your travel information on your mobile phone but it’s the little personal touches and local advice which can make your holiday special. Many thanks Gianni for Fondazione Querini stampalia and also piano concert. The breakfasts were fabulous. The location perfect for exploring and so close to the vaporetta Giglio on the grand canal. Will most certainly stay here again when I have the opportunity to visit beautiful Venice again. Iv given an excellent review, after all this family run hotel have had the hotel over six generations which has perfected the experience and hospitality. Thank you. Hotel Saturnia.

Being dropped off by water taxi to the rear entrance of the hotel was an amazing experience. The first interaction with the porter was amazing. The interaction with the front office staff was also top class. While we were being offered an orientation of sights and attractions that Venice had to offer, our luggage was being taken directly to the room. The service and quality of food on offer at breakfast, lunch and dinner was exceptional. I will be staying there again.

Friday 15 March to Monday 18 March Starts with the taxi/water boat to the hotel’s jetty organised by the hotel, worth the extra money trust me. From arrival the reception team could not do enough for us, knowledgeable and helpful to a fault, made our stay an absolute pleasure. The hotel is old and the rooms were surprisingly large and well appointed, the breakfast choice was extensive. As others have said the roof top terrace is worth a visit, small but great views. The hotel is very well positioned, being less than 5 minutes from San Marco. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to friends and family and when we return to Venice we will be staying here without a doubt. Tony & Adele

Beautiful hotel and great staff - very welcoming. The location was fab. Breakfast good - loved the freshly squeezed orange juice and the apricot croissants. The spa was a letdown after a busy day of walking as there weren’t any jets in the jacuzzi for the legs. The hotel arranged a free trip to the glass factory with free transport there and back which was a great 2 hours. Loved Venice and would definitely stay in this hotel again.

Thanks for your feedback, we are happy that you mostly appreciated our location and breakfast and at the same time we are sorry you did not enjoy our Jacuzzi Mini Pool: the Jacuzzi has two blower pumps and one of them, the lower one, is blocked and we were waiting for the replacement part, (last Friday has been fixed) so we do apologize for the inconvenience. Anyhow, we hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you again in the near future. Warm regards from all of us Gianni Serandrei - owner

Excellent hotel in a great location. Staff were plentiful on reception and very friendly. The breakfast was very good. Lots of choice, pastries, cakes, fruit etc. There was even a waffle making machine! Hotel rooms quite small but quite adequate. When you are staying so centrally, you know that space will be at a premium! We didn’t make it to the gym or spa, too much to do in Venice, but we did sit upstairs on the terrace. It was a lovely spot to have a quick sandwich. No kettles in the rooms, due to power overloading, but a lovely touch there are tea and coffee stations in the corridors so you can still make a drink. Five minute walk to water bus stop and you can also get the water bus to airport from this stop.

Thanks for sharing your experience on Tripadvisor and we are happy that you enjoyed your stay. Our 88 rooms are very different from each other and they are divided into various categories: standard, superior and junior suites with different sizes which can better meet our guests’ expectations (on our website and in all booking portals you can find the size and facilities for each room category). Regarding the kettles, we are putting them in the rooms where we upgrade the electric panel; we still have a few left to do, and for these reasons we are maintaining the tea/coffee corner in the common areas. Anyhow, we hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you again in the near future. Warm regards from all of us Gianni Serandrei - owner

From the moment we arrived at this Hotel the staff made us feel very welcome. We arrived after 3pm and our room were ready to check in. The staff working the concierge desk were outstanding and made sure we knew what places to visit and how to get there. We had 3 different rooms and each one had a uniqueness to it. There are several shops walking distance from the Hotel if you wish to do some spending!
