I have stayed at this hotel multiple times now and have liked each visit. I adore the old rooms with the beautiful designs. Especially the rooms that face the square. The location is great, close to the center but not close enough for all the noise and peopl traffic. Great stay overall.

Conveniently located in the heart of Venice, just over 5 mins walk from S. Marco square, tucked away in the lovely... More

Our family stayed one night in Venice and I think we made the right choice in a place to stay. Right on a canal and with its main hall looking directly over a plaza, the Residenza Ca' Malipiero is a wonderful place. So much history in this building of which the staff new a great deal. And location-wise, we were... More

Just back from a few days in Venice, staying at the Residenza Ca Malipiero. Firstly the location is perfect - a short walk to the Rialto bridge or Piazza San Marco, however the square in which Ca Malipiero sits is very beautiful and light itself. The room was amazing, and comfortably slept two adults and two children. The staff were... More

Your own apartment in Venice? Heck yeah! Thats what it felt like. We were left alone in the best way. We felt as if we were living the venetian lifestyle.. the cleaning service was done while we were out. The room was very classicly decorated in a modest venetian style and was mostly quiet. The atmosphere in the area is... More

We were in Italy for our 40th Anniversary, I read all the reviews good and bad.And I loved our stay at the Residenza Ca Malipiero ! I have knee problems so four flights of stairs is not a plus, but it was worth it.Staying in a 14th century historical Palace with all the Venetian Royalty style was awesome. We had a... More

The hotel was great, the staff very polite, nice breakfast, excellent location not too far from the St. Marks Square. Our room was huge in size, probably due to the fact that it was of the bedrooms of the noble family(-ies) who resided there. Keep in mind that the building is quite old and therefore there is a little tiredness... More

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
