Discover in the gothic walls of Palazzo del Doge Marin Falier, the magic atmosphere of old Venice, where art and history are the expression of an incantation. Facing Campo SS.Apostoli, reflected in the waters of a romantic canal, this is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in layers of silk, brocades, damasks and gilt mirrors that echo a Serenissima of long ago, a city of travel and commerce with the entire Orient. The Palazzo del Doge Falier, situated close to Piazza S. Marco and the Rialto Bridge, has been restored with passion and attention to detail. The hotel rooms, fitted with every comfort and elegantly furnished with original antique pieces, separate shower cubicles, hairdryers, satellite TV, a direct telephone line, Internet WI-FI, air conditioning with individual room control, a safe-deposit box, include a CONTINENTAL buffet breakfast. The rich treasures of Venice, together with the elegance, prestige and history of our hotel, will make your stay an unforgettable one.

Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.

The hotel certainly wasn’t the easiest to find but, then again, nothing is in Venice! We were upgraded to a room with a balcony which had a wonderful view over the courtyard and canal. Slightly awkward being so close to tourists on the bridge taking photos but we got used to it.

Arrived at Antico Doge by private water taxi as first time in Venice and wanted to arrive in style. Dropped off almost right outside and although too early for room staff were happy to check us in and keep our luggage until room was ready. After a wander and a spritz we returned

Dear Sirs, thank you so much for your visit and kind review. We are really honored you appreciated our staff service and the location . We confirm the airconditioning is not operating at the moment since we still have day temperature around 14 degrees which during nights goes down to 7/8 degrees..so still autumn temperature. Moreover in the Veneto there's a law which recommend the airconditioning use between the 15 May to the 15 September ..obviously dependig on temperature we have we can use it before or after, but normally once we have more than 20 degrees we start to use it. We would like to inform you also that for mosquito we provide both the spray but also the mosquito electronic repellent which normally works . Anyway we hope in general you enjoyed your stay with us and really hope to welcoming you again during your next visit to Venice , we wish you all the best! Take care! Sara/Reception
