As a palace, it exceeded our expectations with its amazing staff who are extremely friendly. 10/10 amenties, and the room was amazing, virtually flawless. Location was amazing, the rooms are very modern and smell amazing, very luxurious. They have everything you need as toiletries and more, as well as really comfortable beds. Their breakfast is amazing, though I do not recommend dining in their restaurant as you could get better food for much cheaper. Overall amazing experience, made our time in venice amazing.
We knew the hotel would be gorgeous, and it was, but the staff are what make it outstanding. The concierge Marcello gave perfect recommendations including a day at the beach. He even found a sunhat lost on a water taxi! Everyone at the hotel was kind, helpful and always a smile. The food was excellent though expensive- but location really special and you could spend a while just watching the Grand Canal. Gritti Palace is really something special.
We have traveled to many hotels throughout the North America and Europe, and this is one of the best. Service is the standard at the Gritti, and the staff can not be equaled. No wonder it has hosted so many famous people, they treat everyone with superior service and great attitude. I have stayed here twice, and both trips were amazing. Thank you Gritti
Great location with a historic feel, the hotel had a lot of character that we really loved during our stay. The service was great and the staff where super helpful, the bar and breakfast were great! Definitely check this place out even if you don’t stay even for a drink on the outdoor patio on the water
Every detail about the hotel has a sense of magic to it. The concierge team is impeccable. You can ask them anything and they can help, including wonderful dinner recommendations and tour guides. The rooms have been kept in the feel of the original Palazzo, so there are wonderful details (like Murano glass chandeliers) in addition to all the ideal amenities like beautiful baths, comfortable beds, refined decor and public lounges. It feels old world in the best way. And, naturally, one can never say enough about the view from the Terrace. We spent ever breakfast lingering over the canal and hid from the heat of the day over a spritz at the bar for the same reason. I can’t imagine staying anywhere else when we come back.
The historic Gritti Palace lives up to its history and reputation in my book. Stayed there several nights about a month ago and the hotel could not be better located right on the Grand Canal and short walks away from all the highlight sights of Venice. The outdoor bar and restaurant on the canal were just fantastic! The lobby, bar, and library areas all are gorgeous. The rooms were also very nice for just a standard rack rate room (which we had). My understanding is that the suites here are world class experiences...maybe next time!!!
I recently had the pleasure of staying at this absolutely wonderful hotel. The extremely professional and personable Sylvia at the check in, set the tone of my stay. She made the check in process smooth, informative, and best of all, welcoming. What an asset she is to your staff! My room and the hotel were beautiful. The flowers in the lobby incredible, and as the young man was arranging them, and I admired them, he pulled out a rose and gave it to me, making my day. This was one of my few trips traveling solo, of which I was a little hesitant, but your staff did an amazing job of making me feel welcome. The Terrace Bar and the restaurant were both such lovely settings. My waiter in the Terrace Bar, Mirko, was so helpful and friendly, and his recommendation of a local wine was spot on. I can’t wait to return to your hotel with the whole family!…
One of the best hotels we have ever stayed in and we didn’t feel like leaving our beautiful room which was a masterpiece in itself with art pieces on the wall, full-marble bathroom and ornate decorations on the table etc.. it was extremely expensive staying at the height of the first summer after the pandemic but it was well worth it. There are always staff ready to help you with your suitcases when you get off your taxi boat, Carlatti who checked us in was really sweet and helpful, and so were the concierge. Breakfast was amazing with the perfect view of the church and a wide selection of fresh fruit and food. The coffee was easily the best we ever had. We will definitely be back and for a longer stay next time!
This hotel has been on my must stay list for years and I finally made it after having to cancel a planned trip in 2020. It lived up to expectations! Amazing location on the grand canal, impeccable service, excellent food, gorgeous rooms, I was beyond wowed. I will be back. After you stay here nothing else in Venice could live up to it.
I doubt we would ever consider staying at the Gritti after our experience today . We went for drinks and hoped to dine before a concert . We made sure with the waiter that it was possible for us to have a drink first and then could we dine after and he assured us this was possible . We had our cocktails and enjoyed watching the world go by . But unfortunately I spilled my drink . No-one came to assist, I managed to save the glass and expected the waiter to come over and offer another drink or to help clean up . Nope , nothing. So we decided to move to the dining area and the waiter there said they were fully booked , there were two out of 20 tables taken . Thus , we were denied a table after the first waiter assured us it was possible . Quite embarrassing. So we left and dined at a lovely restaurant not too far away - where the waiters were friendly , charming and welcoming . So not impressed by the Gritti . And will grit my teeth every time I go past or hear mention of this hotel with a superiority complex .…
