As has already been mentioned, the position of the hotel is fantastic. The hotel is clean, and the staff at Reception are very helpful. Our room was on the back of the hotel overlooking the small garden, where you can also eat your breakfast on a nice morning. We were surprised to find that the room had a small balcony,... More

just returned from Italian two centre holiday . three nights at The Amadeus hotel in Venice to start. excellent hotel in perfect location for us. Easy to wander through narrow streets and bridges to visit St Marks Square, Rialto Bridge and other sights by day and return by vaporetto but quieter (and cheaper)in the evening for the wonderful selection of... Amadeus is a 4 min walk from the st.lucia vicenze train station and very close to the ferry stops. It takes roughly 25 minutes to walk to the famous historical piazza san marco. There are good restaurant options nearby. However since the hotel is on a busy street do not expect a very quiet room if you are facing the... More

location: Amazing. Stay: great, very comfortable beds that you wouldn't want to leave. Shower: THE BEST!!! Food: In the Morning there's a buffet from salads to croissant. Everything is in walking distance, the street where the hotel is, has a gift shops, restaurants, take-away places. The train station is very close by (5mins walk)

Get ready for mosquitoes & bugs! THIS IS NOT A 4 STAR HOTEL!! The lobby was very dirty, smells like a hospital when u walk in. I can't believe how deceiving the pictures are! The receptionist told me first when I called that they have no rooms, even if I made a reservation online! I arrived really late, I guess... More

Pleasant hotel but staff were not friendly or overly helpful. Comfortable rooms but the china soap holder in the bath was broken off and the hairdryer did not work. Breakfast was good but the service was not. Good position but is not on a canal or waterfront. Short walk from the train station.

Near Campo Gerimo, this place is a gem. Reception friendly, even arranged a water taxi free of charge to Murano on Monday, a quiet day. Of course they take you to one of the Glass factories for a tour. Still it was a nice touch. Breakfasts are tasty, only recommend cereal with no raisins as some people are allergic. Room... More

Wow I am just so impressed with the service. After I arrived Florence, I realized I left 5 pieces of my expensive clothes at Amadeus. I was so upset. I phoned the hotel at midnight and told them what happened. I took the first train back to Venice in the morning. When I arrived the hotel, everything was ready for... More

Me & my wife went this hotel for a one night in August 2016. We were selected this hotel through one of the booking site. First of all I have to say that the hotel can find easily because it's simple walk to the train station & boat taxi and local shuttle buses too. The hotel atmosphere was good. We... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
