We were booked into this hotel by the cruise company that we used this year and I must say that it was ideal in every way. The location is great for a very simple walk to the cruise port but is also ideal to access using the Alilaguna boat from the airport 27 euro return direct to Guglie stop and... More

We stayed for 2 days. We arrived early and they stored our luggage properly. The Superior room facing the street is large and bright. Furniture is dated but room is very clean and tidy. Bed is clean and comfortable. It has a small LED TV with BBC . Bathroom is big and provided basic amenities. No ironing or tea making... More

First they gave me a smelly room with rusty and noisy air conditioner. When asked to change they grudgingly showed me a room with A/C that was not working at al. Staff pretended not to understand English. Receptionist was rude and disrespectful. The third room shown had a a working A/C that was not noisy but was tiny and not... More

The hotel gives you a feel of traditional venice which is very much required while visiting this marvelous city. The lively street of shops leading to the hotel is like some leaf taken out from an epic literary work. Rooms and bathrooms are spacious with nice views and well lit. It will turn everyone into a morning person.

We had a very comfortable room on the 2nd floor just overlooking the garden at the rear of the hotel.Breakfast was included and was perfectly adequate, enough to choose from including cheese, meats, cereals, bacon.eggs, fresh croissants.Tea and coffee and juices.... We stayed in the Superior Double room for 3 nights in July and it was more than we expected, not many pictures of this room online so were pleasantly surprised (pics of room uploaded). Shutters on the window kept out (some) noise and made the room pitch black which was great for those relaxing sleep ins! The staff were helpful... More

We stayed at this hotel in July 2016 for 3 nights. It is located in a great position with many shops and restaurants surrounding it. The railway station is only a 1 minute walk. We had a triple room for the 3 of us and it was a fantastic size. We had 3 Windows which a all opened and the... More

Clean and quiet hotel with friendly staff. Quite a long walk from St Marks Square but lots to see on the way. (if you don't get lost) Hotel could do with its own bar but you do have others on your doorstep. Breakfast had a good selection. Enjoyable 4 day break, Venice is just beautiful.

The hotel is close to the garages and train station, that's a definite plus. You can walk to place San Marco in less than 25 minutes, which means that in one day you can finish the city tour and see pretty much everything (without entering museums of course). The breakfast is nice, everything is well set up. The decor in... More

The staff at check in was great (feel bad that I forgot his name), Andres, Safi, housekeeping, Donald and his helper at breakfast were fantastic. Very helpful and friendly. Very clean and will be back to stay with my group next year. The location is perfect and close to the water buses, train station and shopping. The restaurant Le Lista... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
