The hotel is in a lovely spot right by the side off St Marks square. Looking out of the window is a wondrous sight. The rooms are small but clean and the service and breakfast were very good. We booked our 3 nights there on a cheap break and got a feeling that they viewed us as paupers and it... More

Traditional hotel that is convenient to the major tourist sights. Many dining and shopping options nearby. Noise level from street facing rooms makes sleeping difficult at times. Staff is very helpful in answering questions and addressing needs.

Small hotel is size but large in the way we were treated. Easy to find and close to San Marco square. Every day we would venture out and explore Venice. After a day of sight seeing and getting lost a few time we could always find our way back to the hotel with ease.

The location of the hotel was perfect! Just steps away from the canal and the most popular sites in Venice. Our room overlooked the bustling San Marco, yet was completely quiet with the windows closed. Hotel staff were very helpful and gave amazing recommendations as far as activities, best times to visit certain attractions, and where to find specialty stores... More

The location of the hotel is excellent, which is only 5 minutes walk to San Marco square. And the service is very good and the staff there are very nice and friendly. The room we stayed was quite clean and cozy, where the decorations there were very elegant and European style. The bathroom was very clean and spacious. And the... More

Excellent breakfast with a view to St Marks Basilica, Doge's Palace and the Campanile. Two minutes walk to St Marks Square, so how good is that! Staff very pleasant, and most have good English, so communication and Venice knowledge is great. Rooms ok, but bit chintzy Venetian style. Drop a coin and it's difficult to find! We stayed for 4... We stayed for 3 nights in October and had a great stay. Ideal location right next to St Mark's. The staff were very friendly and helpful and gave us good tips on what sort of boat trip to take. The breakfast was very nice, and the ladies working in there kept everything filled and topped up. All was fresh and... More

Located right in St. Mark's square, this comfortable hotel. This location allowed us to enjoy all the amazing sites of St. Mark's before and after the crowded times. The breakfast had typical options such as scrambled eggs, pastries, meats, cereals and yogurts. We'd have breakfast looking at St. Mark's Basilica. The room was small compared to other places we stayed,... More

This hotel is very quaint and the staff are super friendly. If you are lucky enough, as we were, to get room 314 then you have a small balcony that overlooks St. Marks square. Such a great view day and night. Food good and plentiful.

I give the hotel 4 stars, manly because of its superb location, on San Marco square, but still reasonably quiet. Rooms are OK (unless you get the all red room), but not luxurious. The staff was friendly and helpful. Overall its a good value.

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The rich, multicoloured marble and elegant lines of the St. Mark's Basilica brightened by the sunlight, reflecting on the windows of Hotel Concordia, the only hotel in the city of the Doges directly in St. Mark's Square, beside the Neo-classical See of the patriarch of Venice.A building that has been accommodating Italian and foreign visitors to Venice for more than three centuries.
