This is an excellent location backing onto San Marco Square. The room was beautiful, spacious and well equipped. The breakfast was more than adequate and the service was friendly.

We booked out trip through tripmasters. So the room was a decent superior double room. It was ok. But being our honeymoon we upgraded to an amazing suite with a private balcony and a partial view of the Bacilica. Even though it was so close...More
I fully recommend this excellent hotel in the centre of Venice. The full staff were very attentive and the hotel was run with considerable style. The restaurant was a delight with views of St Mark's Square. Wide range of food for breakfast but sadly under...More
We stayed here for four nights and had a very nice room (220) with a great view of the side entry to St. Mark's Basilica and a partial view of St. Mark's Square. Good for people watching.

The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and
Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.

You can get a water taxi. Be careful of the porters though, they will solicit you and take your bags to the taxi and will charge you a lot. But if you are willing? it is very easy, rather than carry yourself. Taxi will take you to. St Marco Square. Hotel Concordia is actually ON the square directly opposite the side of the Duomo. Take one if the lane exits and walk round the corner to the entrance. It can be a bit confusing first time, but once you get the hang of it, easy.
Have Fun !

Hi airport to hotel is easy and cheep. Take the river bus from the docks at the airport to st marks square. Cost €15 per person and takes 45 mins. Then the hotel is on the other side of the square, a 5 min walk. Please read my review for more detail on this. Sorry unable answer the second part of your question regarding cruise docks. Lastly river bus runs every 30 mins during the day.
