Just stayed for four nights, hotel clean, staff efficient and knew our room number the first day upon collecting on returning from sightseeing. Very very convenient for St Marks, but quiet and calm which is what you need after being in crowded Venice. We will stay again. Entrance is on road otherside from St Marks sq, which we did have to search for. Go thru alley way one up from the clock tower and it is on your right. Just before the restaurant. (Two opposite as well).
We stayed here for 4 nights during the Easter weekend. The hotel is very well located, just of St. Marks Square. The rooms are small but this is expected in Venice. Do not open your windows, the mosquitoes in Venice are crazy. We had loads in our room. The reception did give us spray on one night which cured the issue, but sadly after i was attacked. The hotel is very nice, and the staff are very helpful. Breakfast was good, and the coffee was the best. Italians do know how to do coffee. Excellent hotel and i would return.
I'm a perfectionist, control freak and intense scheduler (I had every 15 minutes of my trip to Venice scheduled including where to eat - see my review of La Piazza) so I read TripAdvisor reviews of all in the hotels in Venice; yes you heard that right, all 415 hotels currently listed and I'm glad I did. Price and location were the factors which led me to Hotel Concordia. Given the location (in St. Mark's Square facing the Basilica), one would expect the price to be sky high but it was one of the cheapest places I could find (at the time of booking, if you stayed for 3 nights you got a 4th night free). Also, it is one of the only family owned hotels left in Venice (your room key is an actual key!) and I always find you receive a superior level of service in such hotels. Our rooms were 108 and 110. Just to note, you have to climb a flight of stairs to get to reception and then there's a lift (for 3-4 people without luggage - the porter will carry your luggage to your room for you) to get to these rooms. Room 110 was a Classic Room and probably only suitable for 2 nights as the room was quite small and had no sitting area although we are tall people. We were pleasantly surprised though, as on the website when we booked it, it looked like it was going to be a contemporary style room devoid of the Venetian charm of the other rooms, but that wasn't the case at all with it's gold intricate headboard, hand painted furniture and Murano chandelier. Two doors down and up a step was Room 108, a Superior Room (photos attached). There was more noise in this room as it had two windows, as opposed to one like in 110, but the extra space made up for it. All rooms had shutters but if you take a while to get to sleep, do invest in earplugs (this isn't a fault of the hotel, it's just the way with Venice with it's narrow streets and church bells everywhere, but it is romantic to be woken at 7am by the bells of St. Mark's). The only issue we had with the room (108) is that the shower and bidet leaked when we used them so the bathroom would turn into a wet room but it wasn't major. I was cold one night as I'm used to sleeping with an electric blanket so the next day I asked Reception if I could have a blanket and the housekeeper made my bed with a blanket on it from then on. The breakfast was easily the best we've had outside of Ireland (an American couple sitting beside us commented that it was amazing too) with its selection of fruit, juices, cold meats, cheese, bread, pastries, rashers and scrambled eggs. There is a bar and lounge (see photo) to sit in in the evenings which was also very comfortable and cosy and the complimentary little bowls of crisps, peanuts and olives with our drinks were much appreciated. I always thought a trip to Venice was a once in a lifetime thing but the city and the warm reception we received at this hotel is making me change my mind.…
Located in a great location, right next to the basilica and main sightseeing attractions. The nearest Dock is a 2-3 minute walk away. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms are a little dated and very small but other than that it was a great stay.
Amazing location - super close to everything. We didn’t use the restaurant as it was extremely expensive compared to the number of restaurants outside (which were still expensive due to location). Very small room but lovely furnishings. Air con didn’t work and the room was extremely warm so we made the mistake of opening the window on the first night - we woke at 4am to the sound of buzzing and around 10 mosquitos in the room (and were eaten alive as a result). You can ask for a fan in the room and a plug in mosquito repellent which helped massively. Fully stocked mini bar (pay for what you use) but no tea/coffee facilities. Staff were amazing and the hotel was a great pit stop for our adventures in Venice.
All of the staff were wonderful, but special mention to Prince and the wonderful cocktails he made, he had so much knowledge of drinks and made our trips to the bar a joy! Best cocktails I’ve had, and I’ve had a lot!
Hotel location is fabulous. The staff we excellent and helped us arrange our activities. We had a complimentary private trip to Murano and glass blowing demonstration. The rooms were clean and beds comfortable. We had a room with a view over the Basilica which was stunning. However not the hotels fault but the bells ring every hour all night long. So we had to invest in ear plugs. If I was to stay here again I would ask for a quieter room.
Great stay! Hotel Concordia’s staff was amazing and the accommodations were outstanding. We had a great time at the hotel bar and enjoyed the atmosphere. The bartender Prince was one of the highlights of the trip and would recommend any of the signature cocktails he makes, the Pink Doub was my favorite.
We had an excellent stay at the Hotel Concordia in Venice! The staff was extremely helpful and made sure our stay was pleasant. The hotel is in an excellent location (on the Piazza, but the entrance is around the back side). Their breakfast offered several options (we enjoyed the excellent croissants, delicious fresh fruit, and a nice cappuccino). The room was clean, well-appointed, and was more than enough space for our party of 3. They were able to store our bags on our check out day so we could explore the city unencumbered. We would definitely stay here again.
Just arrived home after a four night stay at the concordia with my best friend! This hotel has so much going for it from 1st contact by email which was superb I have to say to the welcome we received from Stephano (thankyou) perfect location and I mean perfect, lovely decor, very comfortable room. Couple of tiny niggles which are just my preference and not worth negativity here! I would not hesitate in recommending this lovely hotel ☺️
