This has to be one of the most beautiful hotels I have stayed in and I have over 1150 reward nights. I am platinum for life with Marriott. The lobby beautiful as was our room. Couldn't tell about the gardens since our room overlooked the...More
The Boscolo Venezia Autograph hotel is a beautiful classic Italian hotel right on the canal. We arrived by private boat taxi directly from airport. Sunset and terrific views of the city as we approached. We were greeted by staff as we got of the boat...More
We loved our stay at this traditional venetian hotel. Most people may find this hotel too traditional or "old", but I think its a good hotel to experience a true venetian building/design. It was very close to the train station--- about 15 min walk. Also...More
The air conditioning was great, really great. It was so hot while we were there, the AC was truly a blessing. The garden is beautiful and the complimentary boat ride to St. Marks Square was used several times. We slept well and awoke to a...More
I left this hotel but I left my soul and heart over there. The rooms, service and food are all beyond comparison. I will miss the hotel and most importantly the service I got from all the people over there.

Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby
shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.

Sorry this is so late, This hotel is off the charts on service. I am a Lifetime Platinum Marriott devotee and we were treated that way. The water taxi to the hotel from the airport is the way to go. You will need to fold up the stroller and carry the baby, but the boats are quite large and comfortable. They also offer water taxi service to Piazza San Marco and back which is a big savings as they do cost 75 euro for each trip. The trip from the airport is more like 125 euro.

The other travelers answered your question, but I believe the hotel goes more often than just two times a day. It is a bit of sales trip, in that they take you to see a demonstration and then there's a long opportunity to buy some glass. I don't recommend taking the water taxi back in that it does take a bit of time and is quite crowded.
