Some are small, but welcoming, others comfortable and with lovely views; • The Garden, a typical Venetian courtyard with an antique well and surrounded by white gazebos, exotic palms, orange trees and jasmines, ideal for al-fresco aperitifs and breakfast in summer; • The Orientalbar, the Metropole Cocktail Bar, favorite venue for artists and musicians, famous for serving amazing Martini Cocktails, special selections of finger food and its signature Aubergine Parmigiana. It hosts a neon site-specific installation by the American contemporary artist Joseph Kosuth. Open everyday from 11.00 am to 1.00 am • News 2020! Metropole Spa & Wellness The Metropole Spa is an enveloping and Oriental-inspired place where to encourage the well-being of body and soul. It includes a scenic warm water pool, Hammam with aromatic essences, shower with chromotherapy, icefall and special treatments. An incredible sensory experience between candle lights and the fire to warm the atmosphere. Authentic hospitality The Metropole Hotel has been run by the Beggiato family, Venetian hoteliers for generations. Today, Gloria continues the tradition, but has introduced to the Metropole a hint of mistery and Oriental elegance, enhancing its unconventional identity.

Stayed at Hotel Metropole for 3 nights recently. Overall, the location of the hotel is great but I think it's not a true 5 star experience and I will be staying elsewhere next time. The Good - Location is awesome, very close to Piazza San Marco and the main water bus station - Hotel room is a generous size The Bad - Stefano is awesome, but the other concierges we talked to were useless and semi-condescending. - We arrived prior to check-in time and were told (by the bald concierge) our rooms weren't ready and he'd let us know when they were. We requested if we could get our rooms within the next hour by 2:30 because we had an appointment then and waited at the restaurant. At 2:15 we checked in again with Stefano and he told us our rooms were ready, so the bald concierge just ignored our request + forgot about us. - The bathroom is impossible to shower in without getting water on the floor - The entire hotel only has 4 irons. There was a waiting list for getting it that resulted in me going to a expensive dinner without a pressed shirt. - Window uses shutters not blinds, which we had to turn off ourself at night (kind of annoying) - They had an event at their restaurant that involved a singer singing very loudly late until the night (that was loudly audible in our rooms and didn't let us sleep). Not 5 star service for hotel guests.

Managed 3 stars because of the fabulous location and because the concierge team couldn’t do enough for you. The hotel is badly let down by the restaurant. The service was appalling, breakfast particularly was terrible. Restaurant and bar prices are horrendous. Be warned - eat and drink outside the hotel.

Due to a emergency I was unable to make my room, hotel refused the refund even with proof of an emergency. I book 5 star hotels, and spend the extra bucks because I expect there to be some understanding from the management. However, they refused a refund. Not pleased, they are acting like a 1 star. In addition, its obvious the room will be given to someone else, and they will still make their money, but they are unable to refund me the customer even with proof of the emergency. Management needs to take customer retention more seriously, I plan on travelling back to Venice but never rebooking here, just incase something happens its clear they cannot accommodate me even though they are supposedly a " 5 star" ... disappointed.

What an amazing hotel. Full of History and antiquities at every turn. The staff were amazing and our concierge, Jacob, was exceptional and made our stay equally exceptional. Centrally located with easy access to St Marks square. Arriving and leaving by private boat a their canal entrance added to our 5 star experience.

We were booked to stay at the Metropole early July with special guest invitations to the Biennale Arte - a very exciting prospect. Unfortunately my wife contracted Covid on the eve of our travel date to Venice - hence we were both isolated for a week. Unfortunately the hotel charged us in excess of AUD800 cancellation fees even though we contacted them immediately we received the positive test result - just short of the 48 hours requirement. Being we were, at the time, in a small Ligurian village without access to a doctor (to satisfy/activate our travel insurance) coupled with the fact we were paying additional nights at our AirB&B - it was indeed an expense excercise. In the circumstances we did find the Metropole decision to apply a hefty penalty rather unfair. Interestingly we received an email after the fact asking us how we enjoyed our stay at Metropole.

As I was wondering about the waterfront area of Venice when happened upon this secret lunch spot that will now be my go-to spot when I visit Venice. I had been walking for hours and when I turned down the incorrect alley for the third time that day when I saw the entrance to the garden area of the Hotel. I was greeted by such a kind and gracious staff I ended up staying for lunch. They sat me in their peaceful and cooling garden where I enjoyed prosecco and cooled down. As plates of the most delicious-looking food continued to pass by me I couldn’t help but order from the menu. I was recommended the special of the day which just so happened to be pork cheek (one of my favorite dishes) and it was amazing. I’m so glad a got lost down that alley because this spot is one of the best lunch experiences I have ever had.

We had a deluxe room with a huge 4 poster bed surrounded by cherubs. It was cheerful and a great introduction to Venice. The hotel has a cheerful garden where breakfast was served and is full of antique fans, crucifixes and other items which were fun to examine. But the Head Concierge, Giuliano Brogliato, really made our stay special. He organized a tour of the Doge's Palace for us at the last minute, recommended and reserved restaurants and arranged our transportation. And you can't beat the location on the wide prominade that leads from west of St Mark's Square to the Arsenal along the Grand Canal.

Paid for a fairly expensive room for my partners 45th birthday. Room very dated with fake marble plastic wall coverings, room service and housekeeping pretty bad, had to phone and ask for toilet paper. Breakfast limited with very chaotic service, nobody knew what they were doing and I was served filter coffee when I asked for a macchiato. Hotel common areas super dark and poorly lit. Wouldn’t recommend, go for a bigger chain while in Venice

Dear “james_chairman" , Thank you for your stay and for the time in sharing your experience. We are sorry to understand that our atmosphere did not meet your taste: our Metropole is a boutique hotel characterized by an eclectic dramatic soul. A unique intimate atmosphere pervades the hotel: candles, soft lights, precious silks, and velvets hand made in Venice make the ambience a special magic place. All the rooms features precious marbles, mother of pearl or golden leaves mosaics as well as precious silks on the walls. We are sorry that your room did not meet your expectations: all our rooms are different and we could offer a great alternative better meeting your needs. Thank you for your notes about breakfast that will help us to improve our service: we have implemented our choice of homemade products and trained our team for a more sensitive attitude towards requests from our guests. We look forward to welcome you back: it will be a pleasure to offer the best accommodation and our special personalized services. A unique historical hotel right by the water front and with the Zaccaria water bus stop right outside for easy access to anywhere in Venice. The room we were allocated was really nice with a comfortable large bed, and a small balcony overlooking the side canal, but you could see the lagoon as well if you looked out. When you closed the windows and shutters it cut out all the light noise which we found amazing and we slept really well on all nights (although I think things tend to quieten down after 10 pm). The Air conditioning was excellent and worked so well considering the extreme heat outside (we kept sneaking back to the hotel to cool off ;) ). Shower was a really good hot power shower in a walk-in wet room with marble tiles. Nice garden with running water features, a good place to relax and have a continental breakfast or evening drinks. Fascinating antiques on display throughout the hotel. All the staff were very professional and friendly and worked very hard - available at all hours. They helped us by booking a water taxi for the 5 a.m departure back to the airport - a quiet final tour through the canals followed by a powerboat ride straight to the door of the airport :)
