I visited this Venice and stayed in this hotel just a few weeks ago for three nights and reading the reviews I was a little reluctant after booking. When we arrived, we found the hotel is in a centralised location with good links and plenty of shops and restaurants. It is only around 30 minutes to St. Marks square and... More

I originally booked and paid for a double standard room for 2 people, on the day of check-in I said to the hotel staff it's now only for 1 person. They gave me a single room in the attic and insisted it's a double room which is what i have already paid for even though it is now for 1... More

Just got back from a first time visit to Venice to celebrate my wife's birthday. Hotel handily sited close to the bus and railway station. The hotel overlooks the Grand Canal & on arrival asked if we could upgrade to a room with a canal view. We were told this would be a further 80 euros per night, an additional... More

was really looking forwards to this stay in Venice - but I have to say that the reviews that this small and fairly basic hotel get are in my opinion - over - rated Its located in a very good location - no doubt - its facing a canal that leads to St Marks - and its got great place... More

Lovely hotel between a tiny street and The Grand Canal. There are shops and pizza places and lots of browsing on the street side and of course, the water taxi at the other end of the lobby can take you on a nice ride to St. Mark's Square. There is outside hotel seating here to really enjoy a glass of... More

This is a wonderful hotel. It is located on the Grand Canal. The room was very clean and nicely decorated. Service was wonderful. We had a.delicious variety of breakfast each morning. You can sit outside on the canal for a cocktail. I can not wait for our next visit.

Located close to train station. Located on the grand canal...our room did not have any view. About 20min walk to San Marco area. Room and bathroom size small. Luggage storage facility is good. Breakfast buffet good with variety of options.

Stayed in room 301, when we arrived had an issue with the lock on the door and staff responded and fixed promptly. Hotel was clean, room spacious enough, breakfast was very good . We would stay at this hotel again if we are ever lucky enough to get to Venice. This room didn't have a view, but we didn't care... More

LOCATION + 1 close to train station (Stazione di Venezia Santa Lucia), Venice is a small walking town and thus the hotel is very close to shops and restaurant, it’s located by the canal and if you booked a room with canal view then would be very nice STAFF -1 long queue for check-in, the reception was quite annoyed, he... Booked this via a travel agent. The room was basic and adequate. If I had booked it would have looked to upgrade, however, only here for 3 nights so no big deal. Air conditioner didn't work correctly, kept cutting out, a bit of a pain, not a big issue and in fairness to hotel didn't complain. Breakfast was a bit... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
