Stayed one night for 2 bedroom apartment in early May 2016 for a party of 3. Rooms are very spacious with bed, sofa, closet, and still enough space to roam around. Bathrooms are also spacious and extremely clean. No breakfast provided, but you have a full kitchen. It is about 5 minutes walk to the St. Mark's square. When you... More

location is wonderful, close to everything in a distance walking. check-in and check-out perfect. only things I would have preferred a clear explanation on how to turn on the heating/AC as it seemed quite complex. big apartments, very cozy despite the kich silver furniture. super clean. definitely recommended

We booked into the Al Bailo apartments for 3 nights. Staff member was very helpful and informative. It was in a great location on a canal. It was only a short walk to St Marks Square. The apartment was very clean and spacious with 2 bathrooms. The only downside we found was it was very noisey thoughout the night with... More

The Al Bailo apartments are right next to a canal, less than a 10 minute walk to St Mark's square. Our particular apartment had two large double bedrooms which were perfect for the 4 of us, although there was a sofa bed if needed. There was a small kitchenette which was fine for making the occasional meal. Everything was meticulously... More

Stayed here for 3 nights. Perfectly located, lovely view, spotlessly clean and helpful staff. Wouldn't hesitate to come back. The staff, available between 9am and 3.30pm gave us great restaurant recommendations and sorted our taxis to and from the airport. No more than a 5 minute walk from San Marco piazza.

First, the bright side - it was all very clean, the staff helpful and nice, the hotel has a great location. And now worse - ground floor room was very dark, and especially the bed was very narrow (possibly less than 140 cm) and we didnt sleep really well. This gives us much wrong staying!

We were delighted with this self-catering accommodation for our 4-night stay in Venice. We were given a second floor apartment for 6, which was ideal for our family of four; we used the sofa-bed in the larger bedroom for one of the children. Two modern, clean bathrooms - such a luxury for a family with teenagers! We really appreciated having... More

The outside of the building hides the absolutely beautiful interior. We had a ground floor apartment with the entry on the side lane way. What a stunning interior. Modern kitchen, beautifully decorated and 2 bathrooms. It was an absolute treat and our receptionist, Jessica was delightful. A short 5 minute walk from San Zahcceria wharf. Simply beautiful.

This is a lovely spacious apartment in a perfect quiet spot only a stonesthrow away from the centre of many vibrant main areas of Venice . From here, it's an easy few minutes walk to St Marks Square, and also only a few minutes away from Rialto Bridge. A great apartment, beautifully decorated and maintained. I would not hesitate to... Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
