Ca Santo Spirito was highly recommended by a close friend of mine who was born and raised in Venice. Upon our arrival we felt it to be a warm, welcome and cozy as we noticed in the entry a barrel full of umbrellas to use as you needed. We were greeted by the owners assistant (Sangy) who carried our bags... More

Caught a shared water taxi from the airport and experienced a high speed adventure over to Venice. Travelled down the grand canal and was dropped of a bout 10 mins wak from Ca Santo Spirito. They gave us a map and highlighted the way to the street. We arrived around 10pm. Massimo had sent instructions via email how to get... More

Maybe rooms 1&2 may be OK, I don't know, but room 3 (there are only 3) is a disaster! The bathroom is outside the room and the shower (over bath) is for midgets (apologies, I do not want to be socially incorrect, but if you are more than about 100cm tall, you will have problems). Also, if someone comes up... More

Dear mister Kevin, Thank you for your review, that will help us to get better and better! Although I don't honestly think that we will be ever at hotel danieli's level, one of the most suggestive beautiful and sofisticate hotel all over the world. (Unfortunately for me) And just to be clear i'm not going to bankrupt, in fact you... More

The place is simple but comfortable. They are very helpful and the b&b is wel located although the instructions to get there were a little confusing. After you find the place you realize everything is quite close to there. There are stairs so be careful if you have problems with them. The breakfast was good.

Stayed the nights of June 22 and June 23, 2015 I am giving Ca’Santo Spirito high marks for the type of hotel it is, which is a small, charming and quirky little B&B in an excellent location. It’s not a five star hotel, so expect basic amenities, not luxury or frills. For Venice, this place is a bargain. Situated in... More

Ca Santo Spirito is a simple but very comfortable B&B, offering very good value for Venice. It is very well located, a 100 metres from the Santo Spirito vaporetto stop on the south side of Dorsoduro, facing Guidecca, in a quiet street a few minutes from the water's edge. . It is 10 minutes from the Accademia and Al Salute... More

Situated down a very quiet street just off the waterfront on the Giudecca side of Dorsoduro about 5 minutes walk from the Santo Spirito vaporetto stop. Older property with unobtrusive front door and a couple of pretty little balconies above with flower boxes. Flagstone entrance hall floor with stairs up to first floor reception area, breakfast area, small kitchen and... More

Sylvia was very sweet and provided a nice breakfast with many choices. We enjoyed a private room with an ensuite bathroom. The neighborhood was very quiet, but well situated near the Salute church and one vaporetto stop away to St. Mark's. The bed was very comfortable. You have to climb a lot of stairs, so if you have difficulty with... More

I went to Venice with my girlfriend for a weekend and we stayed at Ca' Santo Spirito. I booked this hotel because the prices were much lower compared to any other hotel of this characteristics (or even worse) and it had good reviews. It was a complete success! Massimo and SIlvia, the owners of this family-run hotel, made us feel... More

Charming older property in a more residential area, but just one vaporetto stop away from St Marco Square. We had a room with a private external bathroom that was a different experience but it was nice to have more privacy from your roommate, in some ways. In some other hotels, the bathroom is not very discreet anyway. The room was... More

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
