Near St lucia train station, bridge over to bus area and vaporetto stop. Friendly staff and very spot on with restaurant suggestions! Dingy calle (alley) way to hotel but, cool and clean rooms. Quiet. Would stay again.

This is a nice little hotel, we stayed here for two nights. The staff is really friendly and breakfast is good (beware of the Italian coffee, it's really strong😉) The room was small (but thats normal in Venice), but everything was clean, thats the most important to me 😀 The hotel is only a 5 minutes walk away from boat-,... A great little hotel a few minutes walk from bus, train and water bus stops. Friendly staff were really helpful when my mum and I visited. A comfortable room with effective air conditioning, sparkling bathroom and generous breakfast made this a great place to stay. Quiet and relaxed, and yet really close to everything, a great choice.

My first impression when booking this hotel was well near train station maybe noisy, So I had no expectations. When I arrived Impress with the hotel staff, Ilaria well spoken English check me in. once checked in, I ask if there was an elevator, because of my heavy luggage, she smile and said no, but no problem I will help.... We booked this hotel for one night as it was near the cruise port and train station (Venezia S. Lucia). The hotel is down a little alley just past the train station. You can catch the vaporetto (water bus) nearby. We had a lovely room complete with Murano glass light fixtures. It was quite quiet. The room and bathroom were... More

Second visit to this hotel. It is starting to look a little old and could do with some refurbishment. Breakfast was adequate for our needs. Its main selling point is the location- very close to the train station and an easy walk to the airport bus.

During our one night stay on Venice, we booked a quadruple room located at 2nd floor. LOCATION The hotel is located about 3 min walk from the train station (santa lucia). From the train station, turn left and turn left after a restaurant. the hotel is about 100 meter from that turn. Its a also a good base to start... More

We stayed in two different hotels in Venice, and that makes me appreciate more about this hotel. Three very important points: 1. Location is very good. Close to train station also the airport bus stop. You don't want to drag your luggages in Venice during sunmer season even for 100 yards. 2. Air conditioner, a powerful quiet one in the... More

Yes, the location is excellent, and the staff are very pleasant. Just a few yards from the train station, and a very reasonable walk to/from the Piazzale Roma (bus station) over the bridge. We stayed there for two nights before a cruise out of Venice, and we walked from the hotel to the People Mover -- on the other side... More

The hotel is right next to the train station. We were able to walk there easily but steep tiny steps inside was very hard to haul up luggage. The room did not match the pictures. It was clean but the décor is very old and cheap. Many things, like the lamp fixtures are plastic made to look like glass or... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
