We visited Italy for our honeymoon and did 6 cities. We came here as 1 of our stops and stayed 3 nights. We were extremely happy with the hotel staff, breakfast was lovely and the hotel was in an ideal location for us. It can be a little loud still late on in the night but it's to be expected... More

My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon (in July), and Venice was packed. The hotel is easy to get to by water bus, and is located right on the Grand Canal (great location). The rooms are extremely small, but it was fine since we wanted to be outside, exploring the city. The rooms have central AC, which was... More

The Rialto Hotel Is in a great central location for walking around Venice. The Rialto bridge is under construction but if didn't infringe on our stay. The rooms are charming and quaint. We found the reception staff helpful and friendly. The breakfast was fine, nothing spectacular.

Travelling as 2 couples we all really enjoyed Hotel Rialto. We thought this hotel was very comfortable, our rooms were spacious and overlooked the lane next to the hotel. The maze of corridors was fascinating and very quaint and there was a great view of the Grand Canal from the Panoramic Terrace where we took our wine and canapes one... More

We splurged and stayed in a canal view room and it was worth every penny. The area is very busy right next to the Rialto bridge. We had breakfast included and enjoyed it outside under the green awning. The room was quite large and comfortable bed and working air conditioning. Not my taste for decor but found it charming for... Hotel Rialto is conveniently located by the Rialto bridge. There are a few vaporetto stops a few feet away. Hotel staff was professional and very helpful. The complimentary breakfast was a treat. I enjoyed my room. It looked recently renovated and it was cozy and welcoming. I highly recommend it.

We were there for a long weekend on the way home from my boyfriend's business trip to Slovenia, where his parents came from Denmark to meet us. After we checked in, someone from housekeeping, who spoke English well, came to make sure nothing was wrong with our room and that we didn't need extras of anything. The housekeeping staff in... Room 138 was a small Venetian style room near the back of the hotel that faced an alleyway with a very uncomfortable bed and extremely hard pillows. It was challenging with a lot of baggage to navigate to the room as there was a maze of hallways with numerous sets of stairs and I highly recommend using a porter. Hotel... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
