The staff were all very helpful and spoke very good English. On site restaurant has a great view of Rialto bridge to people watch as we had drinks before dinner. Service was great and reasonable prices for alcohol, but soft drinks are $5... breakfast offered great selection of rolls, pasteries, breads, assortment of fresh fruits, jams, eggs (omlettes and hard...

Perfect location right by Rialto bridge. Didn't actually eat in the hotel but you have loads of shops, restaurants and bars right outside. Staff were very helpful leading up to our stay. Some of the amenities like the shower are a little old but not a big issue as the room very clean and comfy. Would recommend purely for location.

Visited this last year with my husband, was the 2nd time been Venice. The hotel has an excellent location, right next to the Rialto Bridge and the vaparetto stop making sightseeing much easier. Love the red tone design of the hotel which make you back to old Venice. The suite was lovely, with living room and a big walk in...

We stayed in the Hotel Rialto, on the banks of the Grand Canal in Venice in late February'17 specifically to enjoy the thrill and atmosphere of the wonderful Venice Carnival. We researched and chose this hotel deliberately because of its location so close to the lovely and bustling Rialto Bridge on the Canal. We chose a canal-view room from which...

This hotel is very conveniently located right next to the Rialto bridge - signs all over the place point you back here, which is very helpful because it is very easy to get lost in Venice. The room was very nicely decorated; it's a bit small, which is not unexpected. The breakfast was very good. We stayed in the Annex,...

Stayed for a long weekend. Our room had a great view over the grand canal. Nice touches such as turning down the bed covers in the evening. Good variety at breakfast, Very clean and well decorated. Can be a little noisy outside late in the evening.

The positive here is the location which is fantastic. On the canal, walking distance to top attractions like St Mark's Square and easy to get to - directly from airport to stop right outside hotel (no changes, no walking/carrying luggage over cobbles or bridges). The room and the rest were not bad but average. Breakfast was plentiful. Reception staff were...

Location, location, location! Kind of a classic old hotel literally right next to the iconic Rialto Bridge. on the banks of the Grand Canal. Our room was on the fourth floor of the main building. The hotel actually takes up parts of all of maybe four buildings all on the Canal. Some of the rooms are down a near maze...

Absolute best location on the Grande Canal, right at the foot of the Rialto Bridge. Quaint, old, romantic, takes you back to the late 1800's, at least in my mind. Staff are more than accommodating to us foreigners. Room was very small, was very authentic.

Arrived at the hotel approximately 11.30, checked in and to our surprise our room was ready. I'd chosen a Suite with Rialto View, and am so glad we did. The room was large and the bed and linen very comfortable to sleep in. We found 1 pillow wasn't enough the first night but were so tired we didn't request more...

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
