Aside from a backed up shower the first day, comfortable stay. Staff was helpful, convenient to buses. Breakfast was very good, bed comfortable, an elevator would have been helpful. Tour tickets can be purchased in the lobby.

I booked one night at Hotel Gabrielli on November 16th. Unfortunately, Venice was hit with one of the highest flood in the last 50 years, two people were dead, and the state has declared state of emergency. My reservation was non refundable since I had no intention in cancelling. However, Italy’s government also declared Emergency for Venice since the city was impossible to reach or stay. Hotel Gabrielli said they could not refund me with the excuse that Venice was not in the state of emergency even though the mayor of the city And Italy’s president had alerted the population and tourist to not leave outside. Clearly, tourists safety were not the hotel’s priority and it main objective was to keep up with its profits. I booked one night at Hotel Gabrielli on November 16th. Dear Ccariapinheiro, Venice was flooded with exceptional high tide on 12th November 2019 at 11.00 pm. High tide always lasts not more then 3 hours, after that the city returns normal and you can walk in the city safe and do not get wet. Unfortunately the world press published lot of emergency news all the week long, giving the impression that the city was always under water. This was not the case. The safety of our clients is very important for us and it is impossible for somebody not present in Venice to judge if the city is safe or not. Best regards. Johanna Perkhofer Hotel Gabrielli

We stayed in the Gabrielli for four nights. First three three were lovely. Beautiful room on the fifth floor. Breakfast was substantial and included. Staff always helpful. The fourth night was a bit different. Around 11pm (I think) a storm broke. Full moon and high tide plus the storm caused havoc. Over 80% of the city was flooded. St. Marks square was under a meter of water. Power cut in the hotel and in surrounding area. Emergency lighting clicked in for the first few hours. Boats driven onto the land. We didn't know until we went down stairs (lifts were out) that there was a foot of water in the ground floor. The grand piano had been lifted and it's legs put into large plastic tubs. The power was still off. The staff directed us to the first floor were somehow they had laid out breakfast. Fruit, croissants, cheeses, ham, cereals and much needed coffee. We sat in a room which had been furnished overnight with tables and battery operated lamps. It was a convivial scene of shared awe at the power of the sea to change our lives in a moment. How the staff managed to do this will puzzle me for a long time. They were helpful, cheerful! and apologetic that the scrambled eggs weren't available!. As we sat drinking coffee some lights came back on to applause. Gradually they all came back and within minutes – out came scrambled eggs and sausages. We can't praise the management and staff of this lovely hotel enough. I hope there isn't too much permanent damage.

We stayed in hotel Gabrielli after a one week cruise for a few nights just to have a look around Venice. The room was huge with very nice old world charm. The bathroom was massive and very new and clean. We had breakfast included which was really worth it. The food was great with gluten free options if needed. The hotel is located a 15 minute walk from St Marco and right rear Asenarle ferry wharf. Very conveniently but far enough away from the crowd's at St Marco.

We spent two nights at the Hotel Gabrielli during a group tour of Italy. After arriving at the Venice Airport, a short walk to the dock, a 20 minute ride on the water taxi and were delivered right to the hotel private dock. Nice. The hotel is right on the water near the entrance to the Grand Canal. The hotel is small and I would describe it as quaint. Steps up and down and around corners. It appears that is has been expanded many times. The also have several nice courtyards. Between the hotel and the water is a nice walkway named Riva d Schiavoni. A short walk along the walkway and over several bridges brings you to St. Marks Square with Doge's Palace, Basilica di San Marco, the bell tower and of course the Bridge of Sighs. A little further walk and you arrive at the Rialto Bridge. Everything is walkable from the hotel. There are many restaurants and shops along with souvenir shops nearby. The rooms were clean and the staff friendly. The air condition wasn't on but the room had large windows that cooled the room.

Started with the water taxi taking us right to the back door of the hotel! Even though the water taxi stop was right across the street. The staff was excellent, friendly and very helpful!! It was very clean and comfortable. Can't say enough about the hotel. The restaurant was not our favorite though. Eat there our first night as we were pretty tired from our long flight over. But we did find one the next night which was only about 4 min. walk from hotel. It was wonderful. the La Nuova Perla-Have to try this one out!

We came to Venice for the Art Biennale and this hotel was in perfect location. Just minutes walk from the main Biennale venues. We had a superior double room, very spacious, bathroom was big and comfortable. Staff was nice and accomodating. We will definitely book this hotel again when we come again for the Biennale in two years.

Very good hotel but it needs to have airconditioning when the October weather was as hot as it was during our stay. Too much noise with the windows open and we lost a lot of sleep. Good location. Very helpful staff
