San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.

We had a lovely stay and even got upgraded to a junior suite - the only downside was that it did not have any views - make sure you ask when checking in! The hotel take COVID precautions very seriously - masks when walking around bags sanitised before taking to your room (even the ironing board had a sticker on it it to say it was safe!)

This hotel is classic grandeur at its best. From the moment of our arrival to our departure we had a memorable and enchanting visit. The hotel is situated a stones throw from St. Marc's and from our rooms we had charming view of the lagoon. The public rooms (Lobby, Bar, Restaurant, ext) are maintained to the utmost standards, I could hardly find a scuff or piece of dust. They take great pride in this elegant lady of a bygone day. Our rooms were spacious and perfectly appointed. The rooms have a classic style throughout with lovely Venetian accents. And they never sacrifice quality; the bed, linens and furniture we all top notch. The bathrooms as well are well thought out and enjoyed the amenities. Food and Drink: Breakfast was great and we had delightful cocktails at the bar. I would say the only weakness to our stay was dinner at the hotel's restaurant did not live up the same caliber as rest of the hotel. Could have just been an off night, they are just reopening. The Staff: Here is where the Luna outshines the rest. They were ALL wonderful. Everyone was warm and friendly and professional. No a request was too small or task over looked. I would also personally say the concierge Alessandro was outstanding. He arranged multiple tours for us and has a wealth of knowledge. He also arranged for a lovely surprise for my mother on our last night, which brought a few tears. He brings a joy and enthusiasm that was infectious. The Luna was an oasis for us and I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Each person there takes great pride in their hotel and it shows. Oh and it is important to state that in days of COVID they are taking that extremely seriously and they are doing everything required to maintain a safe and healthy environment.

This was probably one of the most beautiful hotels we ever stayed at. It is perfectly situated right in the heart of Venice just a few steps from St. Mark’s Square. The hotel is gorgeously decorated in a very Venetian way with lush draperies, chandeliers and beautiful artworks. Our suite had spectacular views of the lagoon and the Church of San Giorgio Maggiore. The staff were very pleasant and professional. Their breakfast spread is very lavish and served in this richly decorated salon. When I dream of Venice, the Baglioni Hotel Luna is always a part of it.

I loved my recent stay at the Baglioni Hotel Luna in Venice with Ormina Tours. Firstly, the location off San Marco's square is unbeatable. It's just a couple streets off the square and far enough back that you are not bothered by the crowds. The hotel itself is stunning. I was luckily enough to have a junior suite which was incredibly spacious and had a stunning bathroom, it was huge especially for Venice. The staff were very nice and helpful in giving us tips for where to eat and how to avoid the crowds. I would definitely recoomend!
