Just a few steps from some of the world’s greatest sights, Splendid Venice is a charming luxury hotel, as elegant as Venice itself. In the sixteenth century, it was an inn; today, it is a residence of rare refinement overlooking the canals and the Mercerie, the age-old streets, or calli, that link Piazza San Marco and the Rialto bridge. The sun sets on the Bridge of Sighs / the Ponte dei Sospiri . The gondolas glide by at the window. The old cafés in St Mark's Square /Piazza San Marco fill with life. A stay at the Splendid Venice offers this and so much more, with an atmosphere as intimate as a stately home, with spaces created for conversation, relaxation and contemplating Venice in all its splendor, in all its hidden corners. After a day exploring the countless wonders of this unique city, Splendid Venice is the ideal refuge; cosy, welcoming and, above all, suffused with warm, authentic, impeccable Italian hospitality. With a private mooring for boats, the hotel nestles in a central yet quiet location just a short stroll from some of the city's iconic landmarks. The 165 rooms and suites offer Venetian elegance at its finest. Many vaunt wonderful views over the canals and rooftops, the bell towers and the "altanas", typical Venetian terraces. All have luxurious, refined furnishings and exquisite details, where silver, brown and lilac set the tone for the wallpaper and damask designs that evoke the Serenissima’s textile tradition. Le Maschere restaurant promises a gourmet experience with an array of authentic Venetian recipes to savour. The spacious meeting room accommodates up to 35 people in a relaxed, private setting for high-level events and meetings. From the Les Clefs d'Or Concierge to the 24-hour room service, from the tranquil library to the chic altana, all our services are carefully crafted to make your stay unforgettable.

San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.

Arrived early afternoon to be helped off the water taxi by a lovely member of staff. Upon checking in, we were delighted to be given an upgrade to Deluxe Canal view room on the 4th floor. The hotel is located on a small side canal, but is a main picturesque thoroughfare for the gondolas. From the hotel it is approx 3 minutes walk to Realto Bridge or 3 minutes in the opposite direction to St Mark's Square ( a perfect position, although we did get lost numerous times, which is part of the fun of Venice!) Our room was a good size, beautifully decorated and fabulous lighting, ornate curtains with window opening onto the canal. A massive comfy bed and pillows with beautiful white fresh linen. Lovely bathroom with complimentary toiletries, soft white towels etc. A good size hanging area, with plenty of hangers, slippers and dressing gowns. There is a coffee maker in the room, and if you require any more coffee, just ask at the reception desk. There was antibacterial gel throughout the hotel, and masks were to be worn in all public areas. The breakfast room was lovely, but this was not self service due to covid restrictions. The chefs served from behind the counter, which did cause a queue, but that was only to be expected. After an exhausting day walking around Venice, it was so refreshing to go to the roof terrace bar and relax with a cool drink. I wouldn't say the prices were cheap, but then again nowhere in Venice is. The staff were fabulous and I would definitely recommend this amazing hotel.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 7 nights and we thought it was lovely. Before we arrived we had Simone and Fabrizio in constant contact with us over email to give us the best route to travel to the hotel late at night while also booking us in with multiple restaurants, they were both very attentive and helpful. We wouldn't say we received the same kind of service from the reception staff during out stay but not an issue. We thought this was the perfect time to come as the hotel was nicely priced due to the issues with COVID-19 and we were not mistaken, our room was gorgeous and we were so impressed with the daily clean also. By far our favourite part of the hotel was the roof top bar and its staff, Daniel was extremely attentive and was always happy to see us! Although the view isn't much from the roof top it is very refreshing and cool of a night time which was welcomed with heat of 28 degrees. The only feedback we have is one evening we ordered a pizza on room service and it came up practically raw and we couldn't really eat it. Overall the hotel was wonderful and the bar/restaurant staff were amazing, we would definitely return.

Me and my girlfriend went for a trip to venice for 5 nights. Booked the splendid as looked nice and saw some good reviews. I feel the splendid is considerably overpriced for what it is, it is a nice hotel but we paid €1,200 for 5 nights and was deeply underwhelmed as I've stayed at alot better hotel with better service. The reception has a very helpful later but there is a man who on multiple occasions was rude and unhelpful with her customer service to myself and my girlfriend. We arrived late on the first night and booked the transfer from the airport through the hotel which was extremely OVERPRICED! Paying €288 Only when booking the transfer back to the airport I found connectotransfer.com which I highly recommend as it was only €40. Not only that on the website it was advertised as having 24hr room service which was a blatant lie. The said it was due to covid-19 which I appreciate the change but this was not advised anywhere on the website or the covid-19 update from the hotel. The roof terrace is nice but expensive for what it is considering all of the lovely bars and restaurants around venice with much better service, I waited 25mins for the waiter to get me the bill after asking twice on a night that was not to busy. He was serving tables that were arriving after I asked, this made me and my girlfriend late for our dinner reservation. Over would not recommend this hotel as feels like the don't care about the customer and only care about the profit. Hope this helps.

Great hotel postioned between Rialto and San Marco. Our room looked out over a quiet canal and I loved hearing the gondolas and boats going by. Clean, well appointed rooms and the communal areas are sumptious.

We stayed in the Splendid Venice hotel for a few nights last year & loved it (July 2019, I'm late in my review!). We had two rooms which connected with a private vestibule. After leaving to spend a number of days in Tuscany I called & asked if we could come back! Not only did they give us our same rooms, but Signor Pisani, the General Manager, made sure that a bottle of Prosecco & biscotti were waiting in our room. I love this hotel, as well as the people who work there, and would go back in a heartbeat!
