I selected this property as it was supposed to have been freshly renovated, has a great location, and many great reviews. Upon walking in the smell of the hotel is most striking. Not in a good way as if you had walked into a Four Seasons or Peninsula property where the signature scent adds to the brand experience. This hotel’s scent is so stale and overpowering that it feels like it is being used to cover up something unpleasant. I have stayed at the St. Regis in NYC so I don’t think this is a St. Regis issue, but rather a St. Regis in Venice issue. The issue carries into the guest rooms as well. It seems petty, but in Italy at five star properties you expect the suits of the staff to be well tailored as they were throughout Rome and Florence. That is not the case here, and you are very much reminded that you are at a Marriott. While the guest rooms have fresh carpeting and furniture, the property feels like it had only a facelift rather than an interior overhaul which is what I was looking for. The hallways leading to the guest rooms are especially bad. We found the last guests empty water bottles in our refrigerator. Leading up to our trip the concierge never reached out to ask if we needed assistance with arrangements so I reached out directly through their website. Unfortunately, in order to reach the concierge you have to fill out a website form instead of being given a direct email, so I completed the form asking for assistance. My requests apparently went into a black hole. I expressed these frustrations upon arrival and they did arrange for a lovely tour guide for us for an afternoon. While they told us her fee they failed to tell us that we were to pay her in cash direct ahead of time. This would have been nice information to have. Lastly, when referring to me when speaking with my husband they repeatedly referred to me as calling “the lady” or “that lady” instead of Mrs. XX. It felt disrespectful. In full transparency, I am a high maintenance traveler. This is why we tend to stay at Four Seasons, Mandarin Orientals, Six Senses, and properties of similar caliber. If we were to do this again, we would have selected the Aman Hotel which is actually very central for an Aman (they are usually further away). They are also building a Four Seasons in Venice which will be another welcomed option.

Hotel's Favorite
Venice is a beautiful city and the St. Regis definitely does the city justice. Before my arrival I had asked if it was possible to ship an online purchase to the hotel and that was not a problem at all. Arrived before check in time and my room was ready, and my package was there waiting for me. The room was modern, clean, and comfortable and even though it's modern there were so many details that take inspiration from the city. There was a lovely bottle of Bellini waiting for me and cookies in the room. The bathroom was so relaxing. After a 12 hr flight that shower brought me back to reality. The breakfast buffet each morning was phenomenal. So many options and that everything was delicious. I had dinner twice and it was very good, my only complaint was that the chicken from the Caesar salad was a bit bland. The steak was delicious and so was the tiramisu. A magical stay! I will definitely return soon.

I recently stayed here Nov 19-23 with my parents and so happy I did! The rooms were perfect, clean and gorgeous (and got one room upgraded for free!). Both rooms had amazing views of the Grand Canal. The staff were so kind and helpful, everyone from check in to concierge to cleaning and restaurant workers! Went to Gio’s every morning for breakfast which was our favorite! Even went back a couple days for drinks and again for dessert. Even upon leaving the hotel at 4am for an early flight they put out coffee and biscuits for us in the lobby. Perfection!

The St Regis is in an incredible location that enables very easy exploring of Venice as well as the opportunity to sit in the cocktail bar or restaurant looking over the canal. The staff are amazingly friendly and unfaltering in how helpful they were.

Just back from a short weekend stay at the St Regis in Venice and wish I could give 50 stars. It was one of our best stays ever - the location, breakfast overlooking the Gran Canal, level of service were all "best in class". Particular attention by Roberta from the front desk team who could not have been more helpful and kind - truly an amazing team and stay and recommend HIGHLY.

Hotel & service was fantastic! We went for our honeymoon (Venice, Rome, Pisa & Florence). We LOVED Venice the most. St. Regis hotel is clean, employees are nice & helpful, maid service was exceptional - she kept our room tidy, turn down service was great! Room service at 12:30am was alittle slow but very good. We dined in their restaurant - my husband had the ravioli & I had their filet mignon + 2 drinks for 220€ - over priced but it’s okay, we only had dinner there once. Our stay included breakfast which was delicious!! We explored & ate out for our lunch & dinner. (Monday-Saturday) - Saturday we left for Rome. We would definitely recommend St. Regis!! We hope to come back again:)

I was quite disappointed with my first and probably last stay with St Regis! Terrible attitude even if this was a regular hotel. I came a few minutes late to breakfast and some fruits were placed on the cart to take out but the lady wouldn’t let me take because it’s past the time! Very disappointed!

My husband and I had an absolutely incredible stay at this beautiful hotel! It is in the most amazing location near to St Marks square and overlooking the Grand Canal. There is a lovely terrace area to eat and drink while admiring the view. Definitely worth eating in Gio's restaurant as the food was outstanding with incredible service. Our room was magnificent with lots of extra special touches on arrival- so spacious, with a very large comfortable bed and 2 terraces, one rooftop terrace with the most fantastic views of the Grand Canal and Venice where we could relax away from the busy streets of Venice. All staff were friendly and went out of their way to provide excellent service. I can't imagine staying anywhere else when I next return to Venice! Thank you for the most wonderful stay!

We recently stayed at the St. Regis Venice and it is honestly one of the most amazing places we have ever stayed. Most of the staff is beyond amazing to include Simone, Alessio, Diane, and Marchello. We appreciate all of their great service and hospitality. I hate to add a negative on such a prestigious, world known hotel; however, as a warning, please be aware that there are people that work at this hotel that will take advantage of you. By this, I mean that they will escalate prices for services provided by gondoliers and make a profit. Some may even offer to do an exchange of money from your currency to Euros and try to convince you that the exchange is not what it really is, which they will personally make a profit from. These are things that I find very underhanded and do not appreciate from any hotel. I don’t care if it’s the St. Regis or a Marriott Fairfield inn, it should NOT take place!!

We were impressed! Wonderful stay at a beautiful hotel in a perfect location. A big “thank you” to staff/management for all the special extras. You went above and beyond to make this part of our birthday/anniversary trip special, and it meant a lot. We hope to visit again soon!
