Recommended by friends and TripAdvisor. Yes, it may be interesting getting to this location however your 2 options on private water taxi (80 euro) or local water taxi (15 euro) and walking from nearby water stop are both fine. If you choose the water taxi, the hotel has placed signage in various laneways to guide you there. The staff were... More

We stayed at this hotel for two nights before our cruise and had a wonderful stay. It was a quiet and peaceful location, despite being right on the Grand Canal. We arrived in style in a private water taxi with our friends, right to the door. We were instantly welcomed by the staff and checked in without any fuss. Our... More

Loved the ambiance and character of this small boutique hotel. We (family with 2 teens) had a quad room which was quite big on the second floor with high ceilings but no view, which wasn't a big deal to us. One of the single beds was just a day bed so won't fit anyone say over 5ft 5 in. comfortably.... More

The rooms, breakfasts - and particularly the staff – are all excellent. Superb location too, right on the Grand Canal. Book with confidence. We had a great time there and we’d find it very difficult to say what could be improved. Good for anyone like me with a wheat/gluten allergy.

We stayed here for one night after returning from our cruise. The walk to the hotel was more than we expected, so do get a porter to help you transfer your bags if you are in the same boat as we were (pun intended!). The hotel is the former estate of a reputable Venetian painter, so the home itself is... More

Loved this hotel! The staff were all so helpful and as it's just small they acknowledge you nicely without being in your face. I would have given it 5 stars but we were on the first floor beside the kitchen and breakfast room which was noisy. We did mention it and they offered to move us, but could not move... More

This is a very unique hotel in many ways. It's located in a secluded area of Venice and we spent quite a bit cell data on the GPS on the phone to reach it. But once you are there, it's quite an experience. All the rooms are very unique as depicted in those pictures. Our room is the exact one... More

Just spent a week here, the hotel was spotless, the staff were very friendly and helpful and went out of their way to help us whenever we asked a question or needed anything. The decor was very traditional but being in Venice for us it was perfect but maybe not perfect if you like minamalistic and modern. The room we... More

This was older in style then my husband and I prefer but it was still amazing. The view from our room was everything ! The room had enough space and was right on the grand canal. Wifi wOrked only in parts of the room. Max was a great help at the reception desk. I would stay here again.

Great hotel. We stayed in a four bed room with teenage kids. Breakfast good with a great seating area overlooking the grand canal. The hotel has lost a star because of the incredibly rude man who was acting as some kind of luggage bell boy. We had a private water taxi to the hotel however he was not there to... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
