I absolutely loved the three nights at this hotel. The hotel is right beside the bus stop, we saw the hotel soon as we got off the coach, and was able to check in and rest very quickly. The receptionist was very kind and friendly, I can still remember him helping us to borrow a kettle from the neighboring hotel....

We stayed here in march 2010. It was very cold so I wouldn't recommend Venice at this time of year. The hotel is situated right beside the bus shelter, a brilliant location when u are pulling cases. The Rooms were beautiful very venician, breakfast plentiful, staff friendly. Would definatley recommend

My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights during summer. This was one of the best hotels I have been in Europe! I loved the Venetian-style bedroom, and especially the canal view that we had. Modern bathroom and with a bathtub - room size was great especially if you are traveling as a couple. Breakfast room was small, but...

Like most tourists, we also opted for this hotel owing to its location. And it proved to be a wise decision. Located in the heart of city, it comes across as a blessing for tourists who are high on commuting. Easy to locate as people are well-aware of its location and at a stone’s throw from the bus stops of...

Only stayed 1 night in this room as was taking a cruise the next day. Great location for this but I wouldn't stay there for any more than 1 night as the room we had was so small for 2 people we had to take to in turns to walk around the bed. The bed was a small double and...

What a fantastic hotel. Small but perfectly formed rooms in a small but perfectly placed hotel. Not expensive, beautiful views, ideal for exploring Venice. A stone's throw from the bus station, near to the Grand Canal. Excellent service; very clean; would not hesitate to return.

For the price of hotels that you would normally find in Venice, this is a great deal and the view is equally as beautiful as any other hotel that would look out onto the canal. We were able to book far enough in advance that we got a room with a nice view looking out onto the canals. The rooms...

This is a good place to stay for people who need to just walk to the train station. It is just 2 bridges away from the train station. You can't get any nearer than that. Imagine lugging your luggage up and down the many bridges of Venice... That would really be a workout! If you get a corner room in...

We stayed two nights at Hotel Arlecchino in January 2013 while doing a train trip through Italy. It was important for us to be near the train station as we were coming and going by train, with suitcases for a month in winter. We were delighted to find the hotel just over the bridge from the station. We were also...

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.

  • Clean, comfortable, but very small rooms. This was a triple.
