In the sestiere of Santa Croce, the other Venice among secret gardens and animated courtyards, cherished in the oblivion of the most unique city in the world.Hotel Papadopoli stands on the Tolentini Canal, inside the Papadopoli Gardens, created in 1834 by Francesco Bagnara. It’s a truly enviable location: close to the Canal Grande and the Constitution bridge, an artwork by the famous architect Calatrava, that connects the hotel

The Hotel Papadopoli is my home from home in Venice. This was my fifth stay, and in many ways the best. The staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel was scrupulously clean, the breakfasts were great, and the evening meal was excellent. With the small number of visitors, we were able to visit the attractions of Venice with no waiting.

Hotel's Favorite
We celebrated my 50th birthday in Venice and our stay at Hotel Papadopoli was superb! From the minute we got there, the guy on reception was so helpful and friendly and upgraded our room. On our first evening we returned to our room to find prosecco and strawberries waiting for us. Thank you so much! The buffet breakfast was great, catered for all nationalities and there was so much selection, we were spoilt for choice. Each night our bed was turned down with chocolates on our pillow, which was a lovely touch. The rooms were nice and clean and so was the bathroom. I really can't fault the hotel, the staff were brilliant and the location was spot on! Thank you for making my 50th birthday so special !

Lovely hotel. Although we arrived early in the morning and check-in time is not until later, our room was ready which was a nice surprise. Francesco welcomed us and gave all necessary instructions and suggestions for our 2-night stay in Venice. Room was a bit small but just everything we needed. Breakfast was great and very professional team during service. A special thank you to Fabio who also took good care of us. Nice hotel and great stay!

Stayed there Sept. 14-21, room 426. Location: IDEALLY situated both central AND quiet (overlooking a canal and a piazza), only a 5-mns walk to Piazzale Roma hence easy access -- to vaporetto lines 1 (omnibus to Lido via Canal Grande), line 2 to Rialto (via Canal Grande) and San Zaccaria (via Tronchetto), line 4.2 (omnibus to Murano), line 3 express to Murano, line 5.2 to Lido via Northern route. We used the vaporetto every day; -- to the train station and the municipal car park for those who drive to Venice. Very pleasant neighbourhood with plenty of restaurants and cafés (the lovely, world-famous, incredibly cheap Arcicchetti Bakaro is just across the canal). Beautifully renovated building, slightly over-the-top but tasteful decoration, well-equipped though smallish rooms (as frequent in MGalleries), small cupboard (a bit of a problem if you stay for a week), safe, fridge, kettle (sadly, no coffee machine), beautiful bathrooms with tropical shower (though, sadly, no separate toilet), comfortable bed (though not a MyBed), small terrace with a canal view (we asked for a second chair and it came promptly), plentiful supply of good-quality toiletries. We only quarrelled with the down duvet which is an absurdity in the Venetian climate (tossing and turning all night because you are either too hot or too cold). That is the only improvement we can suggest. The very beautiful restaurant and terrace overlooking the Papadopoli park are a major draw. We sat outside for breakfast every day--heavenly--and had after-dinner drinks there on several evenings (mosquitos were not too bad). Breakfast was exceptionally good and plentiful (no buffet per the rules). Masks are to be worn at all times in the public areas and staff take your temperature when you check in and every time you step into the restaurant. However the staff are the major asset of this hotel. Everybody is extremely polite, helpful, considerate, well-bred and well-trained (but never chummy which we hate). Exceptional housekeeping, the room was spotless. All in all a hotel you dream of visiting again and again.

Room was wonderful with a canal view that Diego kindly upgraded me too. It was serene and peaceful and tastefully decorated, with beautiful mirrors and embroidered walls. Think it might be one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept on - similar to that Sofitel Legend Amsterdam. The bathroom was spacious and clean and toiletries amazing. Rest of the hotel (Bar, restaurant, lobby) also beautiful and the breakfast service was amazing. I have never ever had such a large breakfast in my life, and it was served in the beautiful garden. Location was wonderful. So close to Piazzale Roma and therefore the train station, buses, major vaporetto stops. The location was a more local / less touristy areas, which made for wonderful evenings working around the vicinity. In terms of service received, it was exceptional. The level was very high, with a particular mention and call out to Michela at the breakfast service, and Francesco at the front desk. If I had to nitpick in this 5 star review (as in these did not greatly impact my experience in a meaningful way), there were a few minor things, e.g, bruschetta was served on normal bread and not ciabatta on day 3, carpet under desk could be cleaned given large stain, shower dripped and wasted water all day/night , shower tray was chipped slightly, bathroom ceiling could be repainted, the towel rail in the shower cubicle was designed for someone 6ft2). This DID NOT impact my experience, but nevertheless were things I noticed. Wonderful stay and would love to return.
