We (family of 3) stayed in the Attic apartment in July 2016 and we all loved it. Cannot recommend this place enough - if you are in Venice forget about hotels - stay in Ca’ Badoer dei barbacani!!! Fantastic place, an old building with character with very well equipped apartments. - perfect location close to all main Venice attraction. The... More

We are just back from our stay in this lovely apartment in the middle of Venice close to all attractions but yet in a very peaceful part of the city. Very convenient to a supermarket, cosy bars and moderately priced restaurants which was to our delight, we did not have to go far for anything!!! The apartment had everything we... More

Everything one could want. Clean, quiet, centrally located and wonderful owner. Furnished with family antiques, owner almost apologized but it was wonderful and beautiful. Fully equiped kitchen and convient to grocery, if you want to cook at home. (who would want to do that in Venice?) Can hear the bells of St. Stephans!

I enjoyed my stay in the South Studio/Apart, with view of the bell tower of the Basilica Santa Maria dei Frari. As per previous reviews it is somewhat quirky and I did use the mosquito devise at dusk. It was ok to carry luggage over two small bridges, 7 small steps either side, a short distance, to the vaporetto (waterbus)... More

We've now stayed in these apartments twice. Once in one of the lower apartments and this last time in the attic apartment. We love the location, away from the huge tourists crowds and fairly close to the bus/train stops so you're not carrying your luggage across town. The place is old and quirky which is part of its charm (if... More

The Family Apartment is comfortably furnished and simply equipped like a traditional Italian home. In fact it immediately felt like our own place. Self catering, in the apartment's comfortable kitchen-diner was easy (using the local mini supermarket two minutes away) and added to the feeling of being at home. An advantage for people with mobility problems is the splendid vintage... More

My favorite traveling experience as of yet - rented the Studio Apartment for 5 nights as a single traveler. Pietro and Ketty are marvelous to work with from start to finish! Elevator for convenience, but I took the stairs. Convenient to everything and the most important feature of all - It's Not Hard To Find!! Convenient 5-10 min walk from... More

The property is charming and excellently placed. All the facilities are available to cook your own meals (supermarket very close by) or, if you want to eat locally, there are a couple of excellent restaurants very close by. The shower room is particularly well appointed. We were so impressed by the service from start to finish. Booking was simple, directions... More

We loved Ca' Badoer. We had the West Studio Apartment which is modestly furnished yet has everything you might need for a great few days in Venice including its own laundry hidden behind the shower! The apartment is located within a residential district opposite Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari and is close to a good supermarket, restaurants, bars and vaporetto... More

A great place to stay, but vulnerable to mosquitoes. Lovely views and very authentically Venetian. There are guidebooks in the apartment and traditional Venetian mirrors along with the beautiful furniture.

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
