We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was a close 15-20 minute walk from the train station, and about 5 minutes to an Alilaguna stop to get to the airport. Also very close to a Vaporetto stop. The room was fairly spacious and very clean. We would definitely stay again.

This was a nice very little guest house in the Cannaregio neighborhood. We were emailed self check-in instructions with how to find the hotel. For the most part the instructions were accurate, however I will add some useful information to help you locate this hotel. The house number is the most important thing to know. As you enter this neighborhood...

The directions to the hotel are easy to follow...2-3 minutes walk from the Vaporetto. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. The little terraces are wonderful to sit out on at the end of the day. Lots of restaurants in close proximity (within 10 minutes walk. Easy walking access to the Rialto Bridge. We prepaid for a combined airport and...

It was a little hard to find but a treasure when we got there. I loved the view from the roof and it was a very comfy bed. Best price for the time we were there. We ended up with the door key in Milan, the owner was really nice about it. He really needed it and we returned it...

Friendly and helpful staff, room small but clean and pleasant. Great location! Short walk from train station santa lucia, and very near to a vaporetto stop. It 's a bit hard to find at first but as it's not on a main road it' s very quiet at night. A/c and private bathroom were great.

A 5 minute walk front Venezia Santa Lucia Stazione. The B&B was close enough to all the major sights but still tucked away enough to be quiet and peaceful. We knew we would be checking in after 1PM so the owners gave us a door code and left instructions to check in without them being present, we then checked in...

We had an awesome time here. Although the approach put us off completely and we were nearly turning back to find another place, once we were inside we were thrilled. The room was so homely and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and so friendly. They carried our bags up without any fuss or effort and told us how to...

It was a sizeable apartment. You could use the stove top without extra charge which was nice. The apartment was just around the corner to a supermarket, so good location. AC did not work. There were other lacking amenities and definitely everything in the apartment is very dated. The staff was rather unhelpful. You saw them day one for check...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
