We had a romantic stay in this hotel. The crew was very friendly and competent. The breakfast was also very good and in time of COVID-19 perfect organized! The view to Canale Grande with the different boats in traffic was very impressive.
Booked the prestige double room with grand canal view, and was given the room Pietro Longhi. The room is right on the corner with 4 windows, and a larger 5th window in the toilet. Tbh I booked the room for the view, and initally didn't think it was much my style (prefer something more modern), but then once I actually settled in, I felt myself transported back in time, and could kind of imagine what it feels like living in the past, which added to the entire experience. I loved the windows, and the window height, which starts close to the ground, giving a great view. All I needed to do was turn my head to the right while lying down and I'd be looking right at the canal. There is something glorious and soothing about waking up to the canal view everyday. I am not an early riser, but I got up every day at 6am to watch the sunrise by the window. One bad thing - the bath tub had some black specks (reside?) near the drain when I got there, though I just rinsed it out with the shower. I think it's from the stopper. Another additional consideration is there are quite a few bridges to pass to get to hotel from Piazza (or you can take a the vaporetto which drops a few streets away), which is quite inconvenient IF you have heavy luggage (mine was 23kg). If you're in a large group or want to pay, you can take a water taxi of course. Also, view across river is slightly better (you can see around the canal bend). Breakfast area was lovely, especially sitting outside on the extension by the canal and I really liked the peach muffin, and breakfast was provided very attentively. Front desk staff were blunt but helpful, which I guess is Italian style :P They might want to consider a web form for breakfast options instead of pen and paper submissions. Overall, I really liked the hotel both for the grand canal view, and the room itself.…
The hotel has a great location, especially from the station or main parking lots. Rooms are well equipped, deco very 'Venetian'. Terrace on Canal Grande. The staff is particularly friendly and helpful. Very good value.
On arrival we found the receptionist to be very friendly issuing us with a map and suggestions of where to start exploring Venice in detail. We stayed 3 days in the suite which was very well decorated in old Venician style. As with all hotels during this Corona pandemic, the buffet was served by the staff all you had to do was ask for what you wanted. We had breakfast outside on the terrace by the canal, on the second day we were picked up by boat from this terrace and taken to Merano to visit the famous glass factory where we watched a glass master blower who made a vase and a glass horse. It is advisable to use Google maps to find your way back to the hotel as these small streets often look the same. The receptionist also phoned for a ported to take us back to the carpark.
Can really recommend this hotel. The service is outstanding. We stayed here 4 night and everything was as we were anticipating . It is nice hotel with charmig interiour. The location is also good as a starting point for geting around in Venice.
