Only 2 bridges from Piazzale Roma (ideal with 4 cases) this was a beautiful Venetian apartment with everything we needed and wanted. Only a few steps from a great wee bar for coffee, snacks and drinks and 20 min stroll through the rabbit warren of streets, over hundreds of bridges it was perfect.

Very cozy and convenient apartments! We had a small kitchen where we cooked seafood from the lokal Rialto market, fresh and very tasty! Location is excellent: 5 minutes from the central bus station Piazzale Roma,15 minutes on foot to Academia bridge and 20 to Rialto bridge. Staff in apartment is very attentive and friendly, even housemaid from Moldova was very...

Lovely apartment with loads of authentic charm. We are a family of 5 including a 5 month old baby and enjoyed it immensely and would recommend for couples or families without hesitation. Great location close to Plza Roma and easy to get River boats to enjoy the entire city.

This was an authentic slice of Venetian life as close as any visitor could have. The staff and owner were very helpful, friendly, and professional. We had two apartments which were well appointed and comfortable. More storage then you know what to do with. Very clean. This establishment is in a more residential area but still close to night life....

The great thing about Palazzo Odoni is that it's near the bus station and parking structures...as well as not too far from the train station...and that it's not in the craziness of all the tourist traffic. When you're having to carry or wheel luggage around, it's great that it's not far from where you arrive into Venezia. The Palazzo has...

This place really is like a palace! Michele helped us up the stairs with our luggage when we arrived (a short walk (maybe 5 to 10 minutes) from the main parking garages). In our ‘room’ (suite?) the kids were in the very elegant living room, with 2 on a fold-out sofa and the third on another couch/bed, and mum and...

We stayed at Residence Palazzo Odoni for 3 nights as a family of 5 in Tiziano apartment which is a canal view with a bedroom upstairs, one bathroom and sleeps 3 or 4 in the lounge room. Curtains can seperate the lounge and dining space for privacy and the kitchenette is adequate for most needs. We liked the location once...

Positives: - Authentically decorated palazzo with lots of attention to detail. - Very comfortable. - Room had a canal view. - Close to rail station. - Close to supermarkets. - Friendly, helpful owner and staff. - Fully serviced. Nicely located, close by Piazzale Roma for those who come by car. Plenty of good and not expensive (by Venice standards) restaurants near by. Stayed in an apartment overlooking the canal but still very quiet. Overall a great stay.

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighborhood identity.
