Palazzo Giovanelli is an absolute GEM! We couldn’t have enjoyed our stay here more. We were welcomed by Michelé and his staff that went above and beyond to make our stay superb. From the gorgeous, spacious rooms, delicious breakfast, beautiful, quiet common areas, private dock, quiet neighborhood, and convenient location - Palazzo Giovanelli was amazing. This converted-palace is underpriced for the beauty and quality. I can’t imagine staying anywhere else in my next trip to Venice!!!
We couldn’t have been happier with our accommodations! Every aspect from the comfortable bed to the breakfast and front desk service was excellent! This is a grand property in a very convenient location. Superb! Big thank you to the concierge for the Romeo & Juliet rose petals and Prosecco service on our first night! Definitely recommend and will return!
Third time at this hotel, so we must like it! Great location away from crowded areas yet within easy reach. Vaperetto stop next door at San Stae so easy boat from airport. Historic palazzo with lots of the original features and friendly staff. Only drawback was no view, however our daughter and her partner did if only of the side canal! We hope to be back next January, forth time, when a view other than the scruffy light well would be nice. Recomend this hotel.
...on Canale Grande: Beautiful rooms, old paintings, elegant furniture, spacious rooms, a nice bar and first class service! This is the place to be in Venice and if you ask nicely, you might geht an update... we did :-) Mille Grazie to the wonderful team of Palazzo Giovanelli!
It was a friends reunion and have had lots of fun. Hotel is very well located and with a great service. Rooms are very nice and the staff is outstanding. Never much trouble in doing something. We could have asked for everything and it was not a problem. Very clean and I believe it is one of the best boutique hotels I ever visited. Very closed ti the major point of interest and at the same time out of tourists paths Will stay there again on my next trip to Venice
This is an excellent hotel. The room was a good size and had a lovely ensuite. The hotel is located in a quiet area in San Stae. It was an easy walk to local piazza and a 15 minute walk to St Marks Square.
A travel agent booked us here for 3 nights. Although its on the Grand Canal, its definitely off the beaten path and a few times we had a hard time finding our way back on foot. Checkin was quick and easy and front desk staff friendly. Our 4th floor corner room faced the church on one side and a smaller canal on the other. Our single king room was small and only had 1 device charging outlet on one side of the bed (we had 3 devices to charge). We were dissappointed that there was no coffee maker in the room. This was a big deal for us. We never encountered this in any other Italian hotel. The bathroom was a good size with a tub/shower and also a standalone shower. Breakfast offered good selections, something for everyone. Do not order a drink at the bar! Weak, room temperature, little to no ice. Honorable mention to the overnight gentleman who offered to make us coffee at 3:00am while we waited for our water taxi at checkout.…
This 500 hundred year old building on the Grand Canal is spectacular. Excellent room with super amenities. Location was excellent near S. Stae Vaporetto stop. I want to go back as soon as possible. Ciao Bella.
Nice hotel off the beat and path. Good location. It’s quiet but close to the center of town. Easy access from the train station by boat! Beds are super hard so beware but overall a good quality hotel.
We stayed at this hotel with two other couples while visiting Venice. The hotel was booked for us all through a travel company and we were all very happy with the hotel choice for us. It’s in a great location. The staff at the hotel were all very helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and comfortable and quiet. Our rooms faced the courtyard. But there are rooms with canal views too. There are areas in the lobby where people can sit and hangout and they have a little courtyard in the back where you can also sit and hangout. They also have a bar. The breakfast which was included was very good. A good selection of food. And the staff working the breakfast were very nice. The hotel even offers a free shuttle to the island of Murano which includes a glass factory tour if you want to go there for the day. We really enjoyed staying here and would recommend it.…
