Just got back from a wonderful weekend in Venice. The hotel staff were polite, helpful and attentive. Our room was very clean and a nice size, with a comfy bed and modern bathroom; a mirror in the bedroom area is needed though. We arrived by taxi onto the hotel's dock although the water bus stop is close to the hotel...

If you're visitnjg Venice this is just the perfect placde to stay. Being adjacent to the St Stae water taxi stop, you are on the Allilaguna route from the airport and have easy access to anywhere in Venice and out to the surrounding islands. The staff are fabulous, the decor beautiful and the whole ambience just oozes tranquility.

The hotel was located close to San Stae waterboat station (adjacent to the square). A very handy location that is not in the hub of tourist central but within minutes of it. Very handy location to get to and from the Marco Polo airport. The staff on reception were very friendly and professional. Breakfast was a buffet with scrambled eggs,...

1 night stay which was ideal for location, situated next to the San Stae riverboat stop (you can catch this from the train station for €7.50 or €20 for 24hrs). The hotel is clean and petite. Our room, i have to say was very disappointing. The bathroom was average, not a 4* in my opinion. The room was extremely small....

Booked this hotel very last minute so had not looked into it much and had only seen a few photos. We were so impressed - it was stunning and the staff were all so friendly and went out of their way to help us. This hotel was perfect as it was quiet and out of the way so we could...

Excellent location half way between Piazzale Roma and the Railto bridge, so easy walk to most destinations. Next to a water transport stop. Hotel overlooks the Grand Canale. Our room was comfortable and quiet with good on suite. Excellent breakfast, really set us up for the day, says continental but has delicious scrambled eggs and bacon. Staff very pleasant and...

Pros: Location, Staff, Cleanliness, Cons: Wifi, Room size (if you happen to be above average size), This hotel was great.I was delighted with the location. It is close enough to the Rialto bridge without being in the heart of things. I liked the walk and getting to know the alley ways and bridges. When we wanted a less crowded experience...

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
