This is a charming place to stay, and provides a great location to walk to so many important sites in Venice. Hotel is small and the staff get to know you personally and wish to help make your experience in Venice the best it can be. The staff was generous in giving us a late check out and holding the... On being ushered to the 'Casanova' room I wasn't sure what to expect. Luckily my wife explained what the rules were. This little hotel is great. It's easy to get to from the rail/bus terminus...just make sure you get the correct water bus. The hotel and room are like a film set for an artists impression of a Venetian palazzo... More

We just got back from a trip to Italy. We are a family of 4. We stayed at the apartment that's across the street from the hotel. The place was great. Lucio, at the front desk, was very helpful when we checked in...and throughout our stay. The apartment was well furnished. Also has 2 bathrooms with wonderful hot showers. The... More

Had a lovely stay here! Our flight arrived very late and we took the water bus from the airport to St angels and it was very easy to walk to the hotel. The water bus took around an hour. Even though it was around 2AM when we arrived the staff were very welcoming and friendly! The location is very convenient... More

Great hotel, centrally located in a lovely area. Room was really nice and stylish decor, booked for a birthday in Venice. Staff really friendly and great assistance for checking how to get around. Lovely breakfast. Vaporetto stop at the end of the street. recommended for a unique boutique place to stay and enjoy!

Last minute booking and not sure what to expect but this was a great little place to stay - a little difficult to find at night, as there is no obvious sign - but well situated for walking around (while not being too close to anywhere busy) or catching the water bus at the end of the lane. Slightly dated... More

The staff at Ca' Pagan were very friendly and helpful, especially the lady from Brazil serving at breakfast. (Sorry I didn't get her name). Our room was quite comfortable and the location was good. Unfortunately the internet connection was dodgy and lot of the time we couldn't get a connection also the air conditioning wasn't working in our room. We... More

My girlfriend took me there for my birthday and April is by far the best period to go as the water does not smell at all and the temperature is perfect especially if you are comfortable with 20-22 Celsius. The guest house is just a few minutes walk from San Marco. When we checked in, the guest house manager realised... More

Had a great time in Venice! On the top of my list of best places of travel. Hotel was great. Had breakfast every morning. Very friendly staff. Only downside fall was the comfort of the beds. Stiff as a board. I like to sink down into my bed. Only a preference. Overall though awesome hotel and would recommend to all.... More

This is a cool little hotel! It almost feels like a bed and breakfast. It's a little bit off the beaten path, but I think that it's a good thing- its close to the bigaletto, and no more than a 10 minute walk to St. Mark's square or the Rialto Bridge, but away from some of the loud touristy areas.... Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
