San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.

This hotel was great in so many ways. We booked a standard room, and it far exceeded our expectations. It was decorated in a classic Venetian way and the bathroom was fantastic! The staff was very helpful and accommodating during our short stay, and the hotel's location is

What an impressive hotel. We stayed in another part across a beautiful square. The room was well appointed and stocked, lovely quiet location but close to vaporetto and main attractions. Would recommend this for couples and families alike. Perfect, thanks

Dear 737davidh737, Thank you for staying with us and for bringing your concerns to our attention. Your experience was far from the norm with us as you can see from the various nice reviews about our property. I am very disappointed to read the details about your experience at our bar and have followed up with the appropriate member of the staff to understand what happened that day. I sincerely apologize for this inconvenience. On the other hand it’s hard to understand your dissatisfaction with regards to the lack of a meal. This is simply due to the fact that, being our property a small boutique Hotel, we do not have a restaurant. And we do not advertise we have one. Nevertheless our Hotel is very centrally located, just a stone’s throw from restaurants and bars and our Front desk Team is always happy to provide recommendations and suggestions on local dining. I am sorry that the bad weather we had during the days of your stay might have negatively affected your overall opinion and your review. I was sorry to read that you found your Standard room rather small. Due to the age of the building, we do have a variety of rooms in different shapes and sizes. Our Deluxe rooms and Junior Suites offer surfaces from 25 to 50 m2. I am delighted to hear that you appreciated the service of our Front Desk Staff. With regards to the directions to Burano I can assure you that there are many transportations options to get to the island and, maybe, this may have sound contradictory to you. I am truly sorry that we didn’t create a better experience for you during your getaway and I hope you will consider to give us a second chance in the future. Warm regards Nicola Sambo

Are there any halal resturants near by?
Not that I am aware of, but ask at the desk at the hotel, they are very helpful.

Hello there: Several options ranging from expensive to much cheaper. I always use the Alilaguna transport service (15 euros one-way, 27 euros return, Linea Arancio) from Marco Polo airport. They run every 30 minutes and take around an hour to reach your stop. Tickets are available from several outlets in the terminal, or from the agent at the dock. The walk from the terminal to the docks takes about 5-10 minutes, is well signed, and is via a covered walk-way. The boat will drop you off at the Sant'Angelo vaporetto stop (ditto for a water taxi). Another 5 minute walk (and 2 small bridges) will get you to the hotel. It is quite a lovely trip, and you get a ride down the Grand Canal to boot. Check out their website for details. The most expensive is a private water taxi (at least 100 euros one-way). Much quicker, and quite elegant. You will still have to walk from the terminal to the water taxi docks (located beside the Alilaguna boats). There are other options - a bus or taxi to Piazzale Roma, then either the vaporetto or a water taxi to Sant' Angelo. The hotel regularly arranges water taxis to/from the airport, but I believe they might charge a bit more to provide the service. Enjoy the ride
