My husband and I stayed here for two nights and really enjoyed our experience. A hotel a little away from the hustle and bustle of San Marco but on a lovely canal in S. Angelo Piazza. Great service, lovely room and reasonably priced. Would recommend and definitely stay here on our next visit to Venice.

Brilliant hotel in the heart of venice, short walk to Marco square, and rialto, all sights you want to see. Can be a little hard to find, but once youve found it you dont forget it again. Rooms were traditional venetian rooms, beds super comfy and spacious, clean, afternoon tea, breakfast all of fabulous quality. Really made us feel welcome...

As its name says, the hotel is a small palace. So you will live the experience of staying in a palace during your stay. We went on our honeymoon and had some amazing days both in this hotel and in Venice. Everything is perfect, the rooms, the staff and the breakfast. In addition, they also have complimentary afternoon tea.

Stayed here for our weekend in Venice. Lovely, boutique hotel. Only 13 rooms! We had a lovely room overlooking the canal- decorated in true Venetian style. It was clean and spacious. Breakfasts were nice- standard continental options, but nice. The location is brilliant- 5- 10 minute walk to both Rialto and Saint Marks Square. Staff are so friendly, warm and...

Our room was upgraded room to a beautiful little suite with a rooftop terrace, and as it was mt birthday during our stay, we came down to breakfast where the staff presented me with an impromptu round of happy birthday and a cake with a candle! What's not to like. Could not fault anything here - beautiful part of the...

Having just returned home after spending 4 days in Venice, staying in the apartment of the Palazzo Paruta, I can safely say, and wholeheartedly recommend you stay here. If you've booked one of the apartments, then you'll already know that they're located away from the main hotel, I didn't know how far until the porter walked us just across the square...

A week in Venice, in a Beautiful Spacious Apartment from the Palazzo Paruta Hotel Group, was simply lovely. Like all of Venice a bit of a pain with Luggage coming off the water taxi, so unless you have a hotel that is a direct drop off this is standard for all of Venice. When you arrive, the hotel does help...

The hotel is great even though the standard room is very small. The location is just perfect, 10 minutes walk from San Marco square, and two from San Angelo vaporeto stop. The staff is very friendly, and helped a lot in every question. We stayed at the hotel during the carnival with one more couple and the neighborhood was very...

We stayed in a beautiful room at Palazzo Paruta in 2014 and have just booked another trip to Venice for 2017 that will include a second room for family. We are staying at Palazzo Paruta again. We loved the small, friendly hotel so much.

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
