This hotel was booked as part of a package through Costco. This was our first trip to Italy so some of the negatives may just be the way things are in Italy and Venice in particular. We stayed three nights The pluses: 1.) the hotel is a short walk from the water bus stop, and only two small bridges to... More

my husband and i stayed here for 2 nights in early september and had a pleasant experience. the staff were very friendly and accommodating, the breakfast (included in our stay) was very nice and in an adorable breakfast room, and the location was great. the hotel is located right off of a small canal and can be accessed by walking... Standard room was quite small, otherwise it was beautifully arranged. Staff was friendly, the hotel itself well managed and the location was perfect with the short walking distance to the most of monuments. The location was quiet and breakfast was tasty.

This was the perfect hotel for our honeymoon. Service was exceptional, hotel even had a bottle of bubbly waiting for us in our room upon arrival. Close to all major attractions and San Marco square. Hotel has a cute bar in a small courtyard area. Breakfast was excellent and included some hot items. Rooms were very clean and updated. Private... More

This was truly the high light of our trip to Venice - the suite that we booked for the night was worth every cent - it was a 17tj century room that was exquisitely appointed and made our stay in Venice so much more of an incredible experience

A little oasis of calm yet close to all the main tourist spots. The hotel offers a good standard of accommodation and a hearty breakfast served in elegant surroundings. If you are looking for a convenient base for searching the city combined with the flavour of the 'real' Venice then I thoroughly recommend this hotel.

This was booked as a surprise for my birthday so I had no ideal what to expect - second visit to Venice first In 3* and the this 4* - personally could not see the difference but the location was better. We had a standard room and it was small although the bathroom was good. As usual small windows but... More

Venice is an interesting city with lots of pathways that I will liken to a labyrinth. Palazzo Paruta has the hotel and apartment section in 2 separate areas. I stayed at the apartment side which is located just 1 min's walk away from the hotel reception across a central square. It was large, comfortable and well furnished with washer, microwave... More

We checked in at the Palazzo Parula Hotel which is rather hard to find with all the canals and bridges. We found out latter that the best way to get here is to take the Ferry to Sant'Angelo and then walk the short distance. The Apartments are about a block away and are very different from the hotel since they... More

A very beautiful 4 star hotel in the heart of Venice . Although rated as 4 star hotel , the room and the service were better than a 5 star hotel.indeed the hotel was a palace built in 1300 AD and turned to a hotel recently. Our room ( junior suite n152) ,was like a baroque palace ,quite ,very beautiful and... Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
