The Hotel is situated in an area where it is not crowded like Rialto and San Marco. The place is quiet and close to Vaporatto and Alilaguna water bus stops.Easy to navigate within the island. The B&B is also close to COOP grocery so if you need anything, you can easily make a quick stop before you head back to...

Very central location, close to cosy square of San Apostolini with typical bars and good restaurants. Clean and spacious room. Wifi works well. So overall top! Only breakfast is a bit medium (e.g. no fresh bread). We would definitely return to this place.

The room is located in a building close to major water bus stops (also to airport) and close to city center. The room was very clean and warm (we have been in Venice in November). Host is very nice and helpful. Breakfast was ok.

This b&b offers really good value for money, the location is ideal and the host christina is extremely nice. She upgraded us without us asking when a room with an ensuite bathroom became available plus on our last day she let us keep the room for the whole day free of charge as our plane was only at 7pm. She...

This is a good value well run bed and breakfast in a pleasant uncrowded area of Venice. The room was clean and very good, as was the bed.. Breakfast was ok. The manager is very friendly and helpful. I could not see any problems with this bed and breakfast. Whiile it is not flashy or outstanding, it should appeal to...

Located just at the end of the Strada Nova, on a tiny, quiet street, this place was perfect for our 12 night stay in Venice. While the breakfasts consisted of pre=packaged croissants, ham, yogurt and a limited cereal selection, the room with a private bathroom was clean, well tended, and quiet. Early risers, my travel companion and I did not...

We had a really wonderful stay in B&B Ca' Dor. It is located off of a quaint square which can be a little tricky to find at first. But once we got our bearings, we couldn't have asked for a better location. It is hidden away from the tourist hordes but is within walking distance of most of the attractions...

The B&B is easy to find once you figure out the water buses. It's a five minute walk to Ca Oro stop. Location is within fairly easy walking distance of anything in Venice although we bought 72 hours tickets so used water buses a lot, including trips to Morano and Borano. Rooms are up one or two flights of stairs,...

Our accommodation was very nice & en suite within a quiet area. The accommodation is situated off a quaint square which has a few nice restaurants, a lovely clock tower and a canal bridge, very homely. We had a very warm welcome by Cristina, who is a lovely & helpful lady. Our breakfast table was all laid out ready, with...

This B & B has a certain charm to it, not for those that are used to ornate or modern furnishings and there is the point of shared bathrooms. The hostess; Christina is lovely and really helpful she really makes the place and loves a good chat. Breakfast is included and self service.

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
