This hotel is in a great location. It is right between the Rialto Bridge and St.Marks Square. If you are taking a water taxi have them drop you off at Rialto Bridge and it's a straight shot to the hotel. No cars here so pack lightly since it will take about 8 minutes to walk to the hotel. We actually... More

The place could have been clean and nice if the bathroom and air conditioner were working fine. One, the A/C did not work well in which we ended up using electric fans that were purposedly provided in each room. Looks like they have no plan of fixing this issue at all because why would they provide electric fans at all?... More

Not so nice place but affordable. Some strange noise started at the middle of the night between our room and the next one. Not so attenative staff, the areason has nice walking places to visit so, maybe if you are in abudiet this is the ideal place.

Great host who provided us with valuable advice on local typical restaurants! The dreamlike atmosphere becomes lovely when the adjacent san salvador channel is crossed by gondolas on which tenors sing romantic songs... The only flaw is the space for breakfast, but that are already working to improve it! It's not cheap, but it's in Venice! The location is strategic:... More

Most definitely what you see is NOT what you get. 1. A/C had a bucket as the water drain which had to be emptied about ever 1.5hr.. During the night. 2. Bathroom was dirty and pestillent. Shower space was about 18"sq. Shower floor was bathroom's floor Which the rest of the room Was totally wet if you wanted to sit... More

Lovely hotel! The staff are so polite and helpful, david the reception staff gave us thorough tips around venice and getting by. There were some issues about the tv set and didn't bother to get it fixed , just happy with the room upgrade we had.

This was our first trip to Venice and finding this Hotel was very easy. Very near to the Rialto Bridge and Stop c where most of the Water bus stops. The Hotel looks to be very neat and in convenient location. The Receptionists there were very helpful. Daniel and Marco were very knowledgeable and friendly. I would again come back... More

We were there for a few days. Not difficult to find the hotel. It's quite central. The staff were nice all Chinese and Philippines. We were disappointed with our room. It was so small and located in another building. Breakfast area was so little we couldn't sit and have breakfast properly. Breakfast itself was very disappointed. We would say this... More

I booked a room with bathtub, but the room I was given did not feature a bathtub. The manager was extremely rude when I showed him the email that I clearly asked for a bathtub and was confirmed a room with tub. He told me there is nothing he can do for me, well only to cancel my reservation. How... More

We stayed in a family room in the annex (around the corner from the main hotel). The family room really has two rooms (one with a double bed and the other with two singles, the kitchen and table) had a nice canal view, and the kids loved watching the gondolas passing by. The room had a kitchen area (with a... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
