We stayed here for three nights. Clean and tidy and our room was a nice size. Which compared to a lot of review in Venice seamed to be a bonus. Good breakfast with lots of choice. Friendly hosts and in a great location for sight seeing. Just remove that it's a guest house not a Bed and breakfast

Overall My girlfriend and I enjoyed our stay here. I've gone for 4 out of 5 because in our eyes the place wasn't perfect. Prior to arrival Francesco was very helpful and attentive in correspondence. The location is in a quiet neighbourhood within Dorsoduro, a minutes walk from the Zattere and a few minutes from the Accademia Bridge. The accommodation... More

Lovely B&B, lovely hosts made us feel very welcome. The district of Dorsoduro is nice and quiet. So our walks home were peaceful and always found our way home as it's only a couple of turns from the grand canal. 25 minute walk from the coach drop off or the vaperettto drops off just round a few corners. It was... More

Looking out on the little square of Rio Terà S.Vio, this is a delightful place to stay when in Venice. Off the beaten track, this is where Venetians live, and you are not overwhelmed by tourists. Just a three minute walk from the vaporetto on the Giudecca Canal and ten minutes from the Accademia Bridge, you are central at the... More

My girlfriend and I stayed for 3 nights during the madness of the carnival! It was wonderful to have such a peaceful 'home' to retreat to after long days if walking and exploring. Francesco is the perfect host, and all of his suggestions for restaurants and sights to see we're spot on. My girlfriend is a violin player so it... More

We loved Francesco's charming bed and breakfast in one of the quietest parts of Venice. It is tucked away in Dorsoduro, on the opposite side of the Grand Canal, well away from the tourist hordes. City noise melted away behind stone walls and we were pleasantly awakened each morning to the sound of church bells. Breakfast was served by Francesco... More

We stayed here for four nights in September 2014 and loved it. Location - excellent, just across from San Marco via the Accademia Bridge. It is in a quiet suburban setting a short walk from the Zattere waterfront which is lovely in the late afternoon. Room - very comfortable, we had windows to the street and to the garden. Some... This is exactly what one would expect from a bed and breakfast stay -- a friendly atmosphere and the sense of being in a home. Francesco is very friendly and accommodating. He cooks a hearty breakfast himself, and the kitchen is also available at night for tea or a small snack. Given the time change, I was getting hungry in... More

We spent two nights in this B&B in Venice. When we arrived following a train journey from Florence, we were unable to access the B&B as nobody was at home. After about 15 minutes, I found Francesco’s number and my partner gave him a call. Francesco said he had contacted us by various methods to inform us that he had... More

Me & my friend stayed in Venice for 6 nights at Dorsoduro 461 hoping to get a true venetian experience and this was exactly what we got. Francesco couldn't have been a better host, he helped with directions, things to do and see and the breakfast was delicious! The location of the B&B is perfect, very near the Zattere, where... More

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
