In my opinion the hotel is perfect for a few days trip to venice! Even if is not located on the main street, is not so hard to find! And the location is very good, near everything! You have the supermarket and some restaurants near, also vapporetto station and it's not so far from San Marco. The room was clean...

Avoid, avoid, avoid if you can. Dirty, smelly and poorly managed, if at all. Staff are scarce and when available, totally unhelpful. When we complained of poor fittings, blocked drains and unidentifiable smells, all of which were admitted as being present by the part-time manager, his response was, 'sorry, but it's not my hotel'! Ridiculous. The kitchenette in our room...

The area was great, within walking distance to the Grand Canal, I loved waking up early morning bustle, then re-joining my travelling companions for breakfast while planning the days events. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Free Wi-Fi which was great for communicating back home.

1. Extremely difficult to find even with Google maps. 2. Very UN-welcoming. THE main issue was the staff member attending the breakfast area who's hygiene manners was AWFUL and he wore the same sweaty shirt back and front for 2 days..When mentioned to reception staff a shrug of the shoulders was the response. Far better hotels for the same money.....

We left the water bus at Ca Doro with the directions to this hotel ready to follow. Not as easy as it sounds. Two hours later after crossing the same two bridges at least eight times, asking numerous people working in restaurants for directions and winding Our way through small streets and alley ways we came upon it by chance....

Great place. The rooms were nice and clean. It was a short walk to all the big sightseeing places in Venice and a 20 min walk to the train station. Also a grocery store right around the corner. The only bad experience was the really bad wifi and almost no cell service in the rooms.

Very nice hotel. Not easy to find. Had to ask and is a little tricky but very spacious room. Breakfast was good with enough to choose from. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed on the ground floor and would not wanted to have to haul our luggage up to a different floor. Would stay at again.

After reading quite a few terrible reviews I was a bit apprehensive about staying here. However it is reasonably priced for Venice and in a good location. Would be OK for a few days. This place is very difficult to find even after looking at Google street view! We ended up having to ask a stall holder to show us...

Having read previous reviews both positive and negative about the hotel I went with an open mind. Whilst our room was very basic, it suited our needs. It was, after all, just a place to sleep. We didn't have any issues with noise and while we had no view as the windows were only small and above head level, it...

We stayed for 2 nights with my partner and absolutely hated it and couldn't wait to leave. The wifii doesn't connect properly very slow. No staff on site to help out with any issues and when we checked in the service was terrible and they do not provide you with a tax receipt for the "city tax" the room was...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
