We bless the day we found ca Barba on line and were able to book 2 rooms. The owner, Alessandro, is beyond anything you dream of when you plan your trip. He's adorable, informative, charming, funny and beyond helpful. He gave each of us a book about Venice but told us to throw away our maps and just wander and... More

We stayed here for two nights. Very clean and welcoming was very friendly, we were met off the vaporetto. Great location near everything but on a quiet street. Room 2 was a nice size and jacuzzi bath was great. Breakfast was ok. Would stay again.

We arrived in Venice and had no problem getting to the B&B, Alessandro had given us great directions. Our room was very large for the area, it was clean with a espresso machine and we had a private bathroom with a Jacuzzi shower. Each morning Alessandro provided us with delicious pastries, fruit and juice as well as a map of... More

A most highly recommended b&b for your stay in Venice. It's position in Venice (close to the grand canal and Rialto bridge, but off a quiet alley), it's presentation (highest quality throughout), and most importantly the amazing and charming host, Alessandro, who went out of his way to guide us on where to go and the best ways to enjoy... We stayed in July 2016 for 2 nights with Alessandro during our honeymoon Euro trip. His B&B was absolutely lovely, he takes extreme pride in his work and goes above and beyond to ensure you are satisfied throughout your entire stay. The breakfast was good with a large variety and the room was incredible. Alessandro answered any questions we had... More

Visited in June 2016 and stayed 3 nights. Room was comfortable and spacious and the breakfast was a nice continental one (no eggs but great selection of baked stuff) and great espresso. The location was absolutely perfect, tight near Rialto market so we walked everywhere, no need to use the vaporetto (water bus) other than when arriving and leaving because... More

Alessendro was a GREAT host and made the experience so enjoyable. This was our first time in Venice, we stayed for 5 nights at this sweet airb&b which I would recommend to anyone who want to experience the best of Venice like a local. Alessendro generously handed out all the tips of how to explore Venice, the less explored hidden... More

We stayed at Ca'Barba for our wedding / honeymoon in Venice. Alessandro was A++ from my first inquiry with him and he made everything very easy. We booked the large room/suite since we were in Venice for several days and wanted something special for our wedding. Alessandro provided us with excellent directions on how to navigate the transportation system to... More

First time we got here, the host met us on the pier. And then he made us breakfast and after that he showed us on where to go with less of people. And he upgraded our room since he made a small mistake to our room that we booked!! The room is really nice! Clean, the bed is comfy! You... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
