Stayed for two nights during the carnival time. Staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. Our room was comfortable and quiet although the hotel is situated very close to St. Mark's Square. When we return to Venice we will certainly stay at Hotel Firenze again.

Just stayed here for 2 nights with my daughter what a great little hotel. Ideally located for sightseeing and close to a waterbus stop for any travelling. Hotel has a small lift for anyone with mobility problems and a stones throw away from St Marks square. The staff were helpful and a good selection of goodies for breakfast to set... More

Stayed here for two nights. We had a small room but it was clean and neat, and the bathroom had been renovated which was lovely. We stayed on the first floor and had no noise issues. The cold breakfast was small but excellent: hard boiled eggs, ham, cheese, fruit, pastries etc. Standout memory was staff member Andrea. How refreshing to... More

We were there in January, the price for 2 nights for a double room was 150 €, which is a really good price. We had a very nice room on the top floor with terrace. The bathroom seems to be really new. Piazza San Marco is only 2 minutes away. The hotel itself is not easy to find. Search for... More

The location is perfect if arriving by vaporetto as it is close to the stops at San Marco and walking distance to other attractions. Rooms are small but commensurate with the rate. Friendly staff and overall an enjoyable stay.

Great location right off the opposite end of St Mark's Square. Very hard to find first time - Look for sign on sidewalk! Right hand side go thru to courtyard and viola! We had Excellent help at the Front Desk and nice bright room with a balcony. Rooftop terrace is a great place for breakfast and/or a cocktail.

We enjoyed the room and staff at Hotel Firenze, It's a little hard to find, we had one of the bag porters that meet you at the water taxi ramps carry our bags (it's 20 euro) but he leads you right to the hotel (and carries your bags)

Hotel staff were welcoming and extremely helpful. We had a 4th floor room with balcony which was well appointed and the service was great - chocolates left on pillow each evening and a assortment of treats placed in the room each day.

the official hotel photos are misleading. the room is not as nice in reality, which is disappointing. one of the reasons we chose this hotel was the availability of the bathtub - turned out they only had one room with such bathtub as seen in the pictures. the bathtub we had in our room was half adult size! the room... Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
