We stayed there 3 nights recently and the service is OK, the rooms are tiny, very expensive for what it is, for the same price we could have gotten better hotel and room in the same area. The ventilation in the washroom is so noisy that you can't hear the other person talking in the room. There was a strong...

Very clever layout considering the hotel's small size - everything you could desire including a rooftop terrace. Excellent, friendly service and a very convenient location! Room was small but fully equipped.

We were greeted by the lovely Andrea whom throughout the stay could not have helped us anymore, offering advice and ensuring we were content. Also one of the staff Bruno offered for us to take his tour which was great. Our room was on the top floor with a lovely little terrace. The room was spacious enough with a nice...

In the most luxurious shopping area of Venice, directly opposite the Louis Vuitton flagship store is a small passageway leading to the reception of the Hotel Firenze. The place has three stars but is very adequate and nicely furnished. Got a good rate and was pleasantly surprised. Nice breakfast as well and most centrally located. Definitely a place you should...

This was an excellent place to stay. Fantastic location near San Marco square but hidden away and surprisingly very quiet. The receptionist gave us excellent recommendations of what to do and where to go. Rooms were excellent, warm and they have a lovely roof top with excellent views. Would highly recommend and stay here again.

We booked this hotel after reading the fanatics reviews and it did not disappoint! Everything from the location, room, staff and views were fantastic. Andrea and Theresa at reception are exceptional people. They are knowledgeable and helpful with suggestions and advice. The place is clean and well equipped. The placement can not be any better, 50 meters from San. Marco square. We fully recommend it.

Really good hotel with an exceptional breakfast. The coffee is just the best. Also the lady who looked after breakfast was just so pleasant and charming, The hotel is sandwiched between Prada, Chanel and Louis Vuitton and about a minute max to piazza san marco I had the smallest room in the hotel which was fine and it was also ridiculously...

Great location though pulling 2 big rolling suitcases over the steps of a canal bridge is a bit of a struggle but it is not far from the Alilaguna dock to the hotel. Very close to St Mark's Square and scores of ridiculously expensive shops. It's so close you can make multiple visits to the incredible basilica. The hotel staff...

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
