We had a lovely and relaxing stay. We enjoyed our afternoon drinks while watching the gondolas. I'd recommend this hotel for their service, cleanliness of the room, good food and service. Very convenient and easy to get Piazza san Marco

Not just the location or the rooms but most importantly the staff. Within a day everybody knows your name and the warmth is simply superb. Ask the reception for a nice restaurant nearby and they will deliver. But don't bother crossing to St Marks for dinner the taxi and the restaurant will just rip you off. There are some lovely...

This was the best hotel looking at the others walking around with beautiful views of the grand canal and a great location, quiet and away from the crowds but near enough to walk to see everything. It's a clean and modern hotel with the nicest Happiest staff. So good thinking of going back next year for our anniversary again.

We stayed here in October for 3 nights celebrating our Wedding Anniversary. The Hotel is perfectly appointed to explore all that Venice has to offer and situated on the quieter side of the Grand Canal . The Hotel is contemporary in a very chic Venetian way. The staff were all incredibly helpful and polite. No request too much trouble including...

This is a beautifully appointed small hotel. Rooms are spacious and bright. Breakfast offerings are wonderful. The service is impeccable and the staff is friendly and helpful. Would have rated it a 5, but the beds are a bit too hard and the bathtub area (behind the bed!) is a bit too dark. The location couldn't be better. On the...

We had a FABULOUS room w/an even better view! The room overlooked the canal and was such a cool room! The breakfasts were lovely and drinks in the bar were perfect! TripAdvisor asks if this is a quaint or quirky room - yes, it's very different but not odd. It absolutely has modern amenities

We stayed at the Centurion Palace for the first time for 6 nights at the beginning of October. We also had our wedding reception at the hotel involving a cocktail reception, dinner in Antinoo's Lounge and Restaurant and an evening reception. We stumbled upon the hotel during a walk through the Dorsoduro on a trip to Venice last year and...

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
