An awesome place to stay. The rooms were large, the bathroom was very clean and the staff was very nice. Definitely one of the best hotels we have stayed in in Italy. The location was just a short jog from the Rialto Bridge. We arrived around midnight to Venice and somehow stumbed right to the hotel after several twists and... More

It's not easy to find the entrance to this hotel, off a little alley, but it's definitely worth the trouble. We stayed in one of their "suites" (actually a very big room) and it was exactly as pictured on their website - spacious, elegant and comfortable. It had a view over a typical Venetian square but wth the windows closed... More

The hotel cancelled a booking whitout any advice. When you call them, they are just rude and do not want to give their real names even if they know yours. I do not know about the rooms, but fore sure you have to be really careful when booking whith those guys... they cannot be trust. It is a shame because... More

We stayed for three nights in August and spend the days walking the narrow streets of Venice. Our main focus was the Biennale art shows and the location of the hotel was perfect.

We reserved 2 rooms for us. On arrival was done free upgrade on one of rooms. And second room we get a large terrace. Personnel in this hotel are very friendly. The hotel is situated in old building. But rooms are very well repaired. The hotel is not large and quiet. To the Rialto bridge and San Marco is max... More

Absoluely to recommend. If you're looking for a small and charming Inn that's your place. We stayed a week (1st time ever in venice for us) and we will come back to the Ca Bragadin. As with any accommodation in Venice you should carefully read the instruction were to go. It is very close to the Rialto.

The value, location, service and style of the rooms cannot be beat! The staff was amazing! The antique wood beam ceilings in the bedroom were incredible. Loved loved loved this place!

With the exception that this has to be the most difficult hotel to find (I would recommend you download the directions video the hotel has uploaded onto Youtube) there is little to find fault with at this hotel. The staff charming, the rooms spacious with exceptionally comfortable beds, if you have a front room then you overlook a quaint compo... More

Booked through their website - no problems at all; Big, high ceilinged clean rooms in a traditional old style Venetian house and great view to sun filled square. Extra bed for our 9 year old daughter was fine. Service was efficient, polite, always available and english speaking. 'Italian' breakfast in room was on time and well made; add some fruit... More

This little hotel was a hidden gem. It was located near the Rialto Bridge and within walking distance of all the major tourist sites; St Mark's Square, Doges Palace etc. The staff were very friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English. The room was spotlessly clean and the en suite bathroom very modern, clean and with all required facilities. Finding... More

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
