Perfect location to explore Venice. Just outside the crowd. From the street you will not recognize the entrance as the hotel, but when you are inside; the staff is very friendly and welcome. The room is big and very clean, but in this period some cold (december). Free and good Wifi. I missed a kettle on the room, but in...

I almost never write reviews, but my wife and I really liked this place. The room was lovely with plenty of space, comfy bed, larger than expected room/bathroom, but most of all, the hotel staff was particularly helpful to find us great local restaurants. The location was sort of central to the Rialto Bridge area and San Marco square which...

It was a nice, calm and welcoming place. Also, the location was perfect, close to famous Rialto and San Marco. The stuff took care for us to have a great stay. Had a great time and will go there again if we pass by Venice. Highly recommend.

We booked this hotel through a travel site. The hotel was nice enough to send us a video giving direction to the hotel( but the quality of the video was rather poor with the writings being illegible) from the Rialto water taxi stop. And also that we have to catch water taxi no. 2 from the Santa Lucia railway station.Well,...

The Ca' Bragadin Carabba is not the easiest hotel to find in Venice but then again, nothing except the grand canal in Venice is easy to find. The hotel is down a small walkway with a tiny lit plaque next to the door. The security door opens to a foyer with the check in upstairs. Our room was magnificent -...

Central location staff very friendly cheerfull and helpful. Would stay again if and when we return. Can be noisy at night with late revellers if windows open due to sound raising up in alleyways. Instructions for finding the first time, although good, could be more specific as alleyways all look similar and change names.

If you're willing to make do without an elevator in order to experience a unique small hotel in the Rialto just a short walk from Piazzo San Marco (Saint Mark's Square) you should love this place. Very romantic. It feels like a real part of the history and atmosphere of old Venice but with comfortable beds and modern amenities; purportedly...

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
