We stayed 4 nights. We had a nice size room on first floor. Room was clean and well cleaned everyday. The room is basic but has everything you need. The hotel is tucked away in a quiet narrow ally. Basically, there is just one door in a wall with a bell to ring. With the map they provide was not... More

Room was clean, spacious and the layout was very functional. With the off-line GPS program like maps.me, I was able to easily find the hotel and navigate the maze of Venice. Maps.me was invaluable as wi-fis are NOT readily available in the streets of Venice. Overall, it was the front desk personnel at the hotel that was best feature for... More

I appreciated the size of my room and the staff is accommodating. The Positive experience and central location will make me place my stays here in the future. Close ti Rialto bridge ad short walking distance to St. Marks square.

This is a smaller place in a nice Venetian palace (Casanova was a resident); location is good, close to but not right in the middle of the biggest tourist attractions. The weakest point was the room (we booked standard) where I missed a couple of comfortable chairs (size would allow it) where you can sit down after a long day.... More

Entrance is in scarry small street. On the other hand, those streets are not unusual in Venice. The hotel is perfectly situated in the centre of Venice. The staff are very helpfull and friendly. Near the hotel there are many restaurants and bars.

The hotel is perfectly situated in the centre of Venice, it is great as a base to explore the city, the staff are very helpfull & friendly. The hotel is however difficult to find, we walked past it twice without seeing it. The ground floor on the side of the piazza is rented out to a bank & the hotel... More

We had an amazing time in this hotel. Very silent but in the middle of Castello. 10 minutes walk from marcus place in a small side walk. Near the hotel there are many restaurants and bars but they do not desturb your sleep at all!

What more is there to say. With the map that is available on their site it wasn't more difficult to find then anything else in Venice. We didn't try the food as we found other places to eat that we liked. Had a minor problem with the shower one day but it was fixed as soon as we let the... More

Incredible room with a view of the square. Wonderful staff who offered an upgrade for a very minimal price increase that provided us with a huge room with Venetian Glass wall sconces and a coffe maker in the room....vital for a coffee drinker like me! Great place and highly recommended. Enjoy, Caio!

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
