We enjoyed our stay. Best thing was it was a walk to everything in Venice. Lots of good restaurants local to the hotel. Staff were helpful both checking in and giving hints to get around. Room was a little dated but all was fine for the price.

When you look at the outside of the hotel it doesn't seem as exciting or wow but the room we stayed in was truly an amazing sight. We stayed in room 103 which is deluxe room. The room was so big, 2 single beds and one double. The washroom was clean and there was even a bar with drinks in.... More

We stayed 3 nights and loved it. the location is great only a five minute walk to St Marks square The room was great with a really nice oversized bathroom and King size bed and on arrival found a bottle of Champagne on ice waiting for us The staff were very friendly and helpful and the inculded breakfast was a... Very good location for walking around and sight seeing. A little far from the car park, but that's to be expected. The breakfast was an average Italian hotel breakfast, lots of cold cuts. We found the room to be exactly as advertised, I read other reviews stating that the pictures online didn't match the room. Our room was spot on... More

We chose Corte Dei Greci based on price and location. It's a tricky place to find and my best advice would be to focus on the little gold plaques that hotels have outside - you should get there okay. All the staff spoke excellent English and were polite and helpful at all times. Our room was bigger than we had... More

The good: It's in a great location. The rest is bad, the rooms have not much to do with the pictures you see on line, it's old , shabby and in need of renovation. On top of that, we were given a smoking room with our child. We were advised to "leave the Windows open, than it's not that bad"... More

We visited Corte Dei Greci hotel in April this year. The hotel is in a great location within a short walking distance from St Marks and Doges Palace. The pictures of the hotel rooms must be very old as we felt the rooms were very dark and dated. We were in a party of 10 and we were all disappointed... More

We made a last minute booking as the apartment we had booked got cancelled a week before our arrival . We paid considerably more because of that however my family of three was most pleased with the huge quadruple room we got . It's at the back of the hotel which is really the most stunning part. It's like living... More

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
