San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.

Went to this place with friends, the service was bad, rude staff, not friendly etc etc... A big shame given the location in the square. Should be avoided. Food was fine, but regret going overall. Avoid!

We ate here after a day of touring. The waiters were attentive enough except for the “up selling” they did to us and to a couple of tables near us. My wife ordered a glass of white wine and we were given a small bottle....More

Good location but too slow and there’s much better than that nearby at a cheaper price for quality and much better service. Coperto of 2 Euro but no bread and dirty table. Pizza was ok though. Not worth a visit.

Our waiter was friendly enough but this restaurant is a rip off. Ordered a panini with prosciutto and cheese, got a bun with sliced ham. Asked for a glass of coke (advertised at 2 Euros). Charged me 6 Euros. If you want good value and...More
