The owners and staff were very nice, accommodating, and friendly. We received a call confirming our arrival time and were given very helpful instructions on where to park. The owner even met us outside of the parking structure to walk us to the B&B. The B&B was clean and nicely furnished. The shared bathrooms were clean and even though there... More

Spent 2 nights in this spacious and welcoming family run b&b by lovely people. We share bathroom and luckily it was a warm and gentle young couple and we were never in each other's way. Itala explained very well what to visit and what to avoid. It helped a lot. The only bit which was not great (which might get... More

Thanks a lot for the beautiful review. We are very sorry that you had to wait, since we are a b&b and not an hotel we don’t have a 24/24h reception..that’s why is so important to us to know the arrival time, and that’s why we ask that in the web site, in the reserve, and in the e mail... More

Very close to the train station and super friendly hosts! The room was big and it is a quiet street with no noise during the night. The bed was big and comfortable. The appartment is big and the hosts clean it every dag. We are coming back next time we visit Venezia!

We visit this beautiful B and B late April. We were running late due to flight issues. The owners were lovely and so accommodating, and the accommodation was lovely and very homely. We had a large room and shared a bathroom, this was no issue at all. Breakfast was amazing, we walked out wondering how we were going to eat... More

This was my first experience with a B&B, and I was a little worried from the start. However, I had nothing to worry about. The room was large and quiet. There are four rooms in total. Two are in the back. Ours was just off the living room. There are two shared bathrooms, but there was never a conflict to... More

We and our 2 year old stayed 2 nights in late April. Itala, the manageress, was lovely, meeting us at the property and showing us around. She introduced us to her two lovely children, one of whom was the same age and very kindly gave our daughter a toy elephant to take back to London with us. We had a... More

We stayed in this B&B for 5 nights. It is located in avery quiet area, away from the tourist trail, about 300metres from the railway station. There are four large rooms, which share 2 bathrooms. My fears were unfounded as this worked perfectly, even when all rooms were occupied. The daily continental breakfast gives you a great start to the... More

We didn't hear anything before as others did - I emailed but didn't get a response, although the owner said sure she had replied. Our flight was delayed so her husband waited after 10 pm for us thankfully. Was hard to find as our phones had died but would have been fine using phone maps and gps. Apartment is traditional.... Located in the heard of Venice, 7 minutes walking distance to the main train station and ferry stations. The building and room was very old fashioned but clean and quiet. It added some Venice local swagger to our trip. The breakfast in the morning was great! I highly recommend this B&B. Eventho it can be more expensive than local hotels,... More

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighborhood identity.
