My husband and I stayed 2 nights for our honeymoon. The hotel is really close to the train station and water taxi which made it very convenient. Room was clean and very cosy. Breakfast was very nice. The only room for improvement is the wifi which was only available in the common area. It would be nice to have wifi... More

A very nice hotel near the train station. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were very comfortable. There is a water taxi station very close to the hotel. The rooms are well furnished and the beds were comfortable.

It s very cool old building , i was told around 14 century, modern inside. Location: about 20 min walking from piazzo san Marco which is not too bad because you get to see a lot of interesting bridges, streets, stores on the way there. The way is marked all the way to the cthedral! It is very close (... More

Smallish hotel and modern inside with nice working air conditioning. The room we had was very small and our nice large bed took up most of it. There was no sitting area other than at a little desk the chair didnt even fit into. The air conditioning worked nice and the bathroom though small was modern and very nice. The... More

As a solo traveller I couldn't have felt more at home here and that's really important to me - to feel safe and looked after. I had the tiniest single room I have seen in a long time BUT it was perfectly formed and designed, everything I needed, and spotless clean. The design was also very on trend, and the... More

The hotel was gorgeous! The rooms are pretty and spotless and have every amenity a guest needs. Breakfast was delicious, with a wide variety of food. The hotel is quite close to the bus station and a block away from the cities water transportation line. Yet, it is in a quiet area away from the bustle. The staff was very... More

First time to Venice and I am so happy we didn't stay in the hotels close to the main tourist attractions. From this location, St. Marks is just a 20 minute walk and it's great to be away from the crowds to experience a more quaint, peaceful Venice versus the overrun tourist mad-house I felt in other places. I actually... More

Great hotel!!!!! The service was wonderful and very helpful. Everyone at the front desk was always eager to help us with directions, where to eat, etc. We got a room on the highest floor and the room was spacious, the king size bed was very comfortable, and surprisingly the shower was big! The free breakfast was also lovely. Many options... More

We stayed here with friends just before leaving on our cruise from Venice to Barcelona. We picked it primarily because it is relatively close to the Marittima Cruise Ship Terminal in Venice, its location in Venice Proper, low cost and high ratings on Trip Advisor. In a beautifully renovated palazzo Hotel Ca Zusto has both the charm of the old... More

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighborhood identity.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Hotel Ca Zusto Venice is an ancient patrician palace of the fourteenth century in a noble and sophisticated style just a few steps from the Grand Canal. Thanks to the skilful conservative renovation, the building has been restored to its former glory, when Venice was a crossroads between East and West. The result is a boutique hotel, unique and innovative from all points of view: from the comfort of which it disposes to the design of the interiors which reaches its highest expression in the only 22 rooms of the hotel. Each one of them is exclusive and unique. High tech equipments integrate themselves within ancient and aristocratic spaces, creating strong contrasts, the true expressive sign of the whole building. Curtains and brocades, precious bedspreads and the ceilings with ancient beams stand out of different tones of color. Everyone clearly feels the inspiration from Byzantine atmospheres. The service is 4 stars, with great attention to each detail and thought to satisfy every desire, in the name of the Italian hospitality. The Hotel Ca Zusto Venice is a little jewel to be lived and discovered in the historic heart of Vernice. From the "Basilica della Salute" on the Grand Canal to the small canals all around the "Teatro La Fenice" or between Piazza San Marco and the Rialto Bridge, a traditional gondola tour is ideal to appreciate some of the most beautiful settings of Venice. ... more   less
