Great location near center of squares and near Padua University. There were pros and cons to this hotel: Pros 1. Great location near the piazzas and basilica 2. Free parking within walking distance 3. Fabulous breakfast included 4. Rooms simple, plenty big and very clean 5. Great staff, super friendly and helpful, prompt reply to questions. Thanks Samuel 6. Super cool vibe being close to the university 7. Many excellent restaurants, and stores nearby. Recommend Enoteca dei Tadi for the lasagna Cons 1. Bed was very uncomfortable. If the bed was better, this it would have gotten four stars 2. Our room was above the street next to a bar that was packed with university students. Loved the vibe, but it was quite noisy even with the window closed. A pair of ear plugs worked great and solved the problem. About 2am, it was super quiet. You might request a room that is not above the street. For one night before heading to the airport, it worked out pretty well.

Thank you for your precise review. We are happy that the positive points are many more than the negative ones. Padua is a very lively university city and the peculiarity of the historic center is also in the vitality of its popular bars and restaurants. We're glad you slept well anyway. Best regards Paolo

The location is good - very close to the centre with plenty of places to eat nearby. The staff are warm and hospitable. Breakfast is good - cerals, cold meats and cheeses, bread, jam, fresh fruits, yoghurts, boiled eggs etc. Teas and coffees are available in the breakfast room in the afternoon and there are spaces around the hotel to sit which is a nice touch. We had a room at the back and didn't hear any noise. If we were to come back to Padua, we'd have no hestitation staying here again.

Thanks for the list. My favorite item is our coffee! Always prepared at the moment with a real bar coffee machine and an excellent mixture (and you can ask whenever you want). Best regards Paolo

A good choice for Padua; centrally located (right by the main squares) and within walking distance of the main sights and university. My wife and I stayed 7 nights so were given what appeared to be the largest room (315) on the third floor (no worry about stairs as they have a tiny lift). This was very spacious with plenty of room for luggage and a more than adequate bathroom. The room was also clean and well maintained. The system for getting the air con working was rather bizarre but a very helpful member of staff was on hand to show us how to get it going. The TV also needed fiddling about with to get it working and the range of light switches did not seem to have a logical basis but nothing to cause concern. We had asked for a room at the back of the hotel as we had seen other reviews which showed concern over noise levels from the square at the front. However, this room was at the front but we guessed as we were staying for a relatively long period we were given the best room. True enough noise at night could be heard but it wasn't intrusive; more of a background murmur similar to traffic in the distance. It did not disturb us once and we slept extremely well all week. The breakfast was of typical Italian fair so don't expect huge buffets found in larger hotels. Everything was fresh and more than met our needs. However, we noticed on one morning went we arrived at breakfast somewhat later in the day than normal that quite a lot of the choices had gone and stocks did not appear to be being replenished. The staff were all polite and friendly and were happy to help when asked. The price was good (costing us substantially less for 7 nights than 5 nights cost us in Rome for example) and I would advise anyone wishing to see Venice should stay in Padua, which is reasonably priced across the board (and only 24 minutes away by train). Padua is a very good base to travel to other cities round and about and a very elegant city in its own right. I would definitely visit again and I would certainly stay at this hotel.

Thank you for your beautiful review and the hotel description (very appropriate). it's true: we are a small hotel and this makes us different from the larger and impersonal ones. For some people this is positive and for others negative. But our relationship with guests is more cordial and direct (and that's what we like). Our hotel idea is that cleanliness and courtesy of the staff would always be priorities. We hope that your idea of returning to Padua will be true. We are waiting for you. Best regards Paolo

Stayed at Albergo Verdi for 3 nights last week and I can't speak too highly of it. Very central location, 5 minutes walk from the centre of the city, 20 ish minbutes to the rail station. Fantastic value, for 70 Euros per night, bed & breakfast, I was expecting very little but what I got was a very clean, modern room, double bed, desk & chair, easy chair, bathroom (incl an actual bath), All modern, clean and bright, great air conditioning and a decent TV, plus a little balcony with a couple of chairs. Breakfast was great, the usual pastries, meats, cheeses, fresh fruit, eggs and coffee. Would go back like a shot, brilliant!
