I would thoroughly recommend this hotel !! We have just returned from a 4 day ski break and would happily return to this hotel. The hotel is very 'olde worlde' with tons of character and is wonderfully warm. It is very welcome and most unusual for a ski hotel to have carpeted floors - it dulls noise from other guests...

We stayed here for a week end March 2012. Took time to find the hotel, the front door leads straight onto foothpath, and there's a side entrance down to another entrance - but taxi couldn't get down there so we had to haul our bags down. Reception is on ground 0 and entrance/exit on level 3. Rooms spacious and very...

We stayed at Hotel Tavernier for a week's skiing holiday. The location was great - 5mins walk from ski hire and the Dolonne cable car, and approx. 10 mins walk from the centre of Courmayeur. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, and happy to accommodate all requests (e.g. vegetarian food at very short notice). Rooms were spacious and nicely...

We spent 4 nights in this hotel. Most important - very convenient location! You can walk in your ski boots to the ski lift, and good thing is that you walk down the street on the way back, when you are tired after skiing all day. City centre and bus stop are also quite close. Room is rather small and...

Our party of four spent 3 days in the Hotel Tavernier where we enjoyed a charming traditional alpine atmosphere and excellent service from friendly staff. The hotel is ideally located for the Dolonne gondola and meals were wholesome. The hotel was clean and warm and Edith is a lovely host who speaks excellent English. Great value.

I don't know what planet the previous reviewer was from but this is an excellent place to stay. The location is great, just a short walk to the ski lift and not much further into town (downhill on the way back!) For us, the food was excellent. When I go abroad the last thing I want is to be served...

At the arrival we were greeted by a friendly staff and the rooms were very nice, with separate bedrooms for each occupant, which is nice especially when traveling with friends. Hotel is located about 200m from the lift and about 100m away there is a large public car parking, which is quite convenient. It is also not far away from...

I found this hotel on Trip Advisor and dismissed the one negative review as the work of a grumpy old man! Then I found I agreed with him! The hotel is mostly below street level and is very dark. In our room (and most I think) you had to exit the room to balcony or courtyard to get to the...

I have now stayed in the Tavernier a number of times during the winter (incl. Christmas/New Year period) for a short ski break (usually 4 nights). I've also stayed there in a group of 12+ men and as a couple of families with children (ages 7 - 17) and on every occasion the Tavernier has been brilliant. They have a...
