Firstly, all reviews are on my opinion only. Been coming to this hotel 2 years in a row during Feb and March for 3 days skiing through Inter ski as our party gets bigger every year. As being Vegan they do their most to help me each year if you tell them or your tour operator will tell them. Staff 10/10 I know they cannot talk much English, but they try. I went half board with breakfast and evening meal. If you want soya milk you need to ask plus shame that all the cakes are not vegan but give it a few more years! Same for supper every night fruit salad! I now look like a piece of fruit! Rooms are small but very clean plus you got a TV in them I take it I hope they all have but please ask and we had a safe for the last 2 yrs. but again please ask. Not much to look at unless you are facing the mountains like we were last year as we were higher nicer view. Also, for any Lions International they hold meetings there! Walk to the mail ski lift is about 10-15 min but you are on holiday enjoy as we only live once in this world! Will I return of course just not next year 2020 got something I got to do first. Anyone going to this hotel will enjoy. They also have a small mini bar that you can buy drinks. Enjoy. Thank you for looking after me. Hope all your staff are well. 10/10

Firstly all reviews are personal opinion. My opinion differs from others such as JT who may have higher expectations than me. I had no issues with the pillows, they were fine. If I had I may have asked the hotel for a replacement instead of writing a review on trip advisors about it & for any other issues for that matter. I stayed in HB Aosta as part of a package with an Interski week long package. We had no complaints during our stay & enjoyed our visit. The hotel itself is definitely not ski in/ski out. There was about a 20 min walk to the Interski rental to pick up gear & the first cable car is about a 30 min journey to the first signs of snow. It was unusually hot March 2019. However the hotel is in a great location for the town with its variety of bars, restaurants, cafes & shops The hotel was very clean, comfortable & accommodating. All staff were very friendly greeting us with a smile every day. Our room was a small twin on the 4th floor with everything we needed for our stay including a fridge, safe, tv with sky & a shower room. A couple of mornings the shower had to be run for a while before the hot water arrived. Breakfast had a variety of choice & was buffet style, coffee & juice on tap. Dinner was a set menu with about five choices from the 1st,2nd & dessert courses. There were also specials available each day, handy as the main menu didn't appear to change from one day to the other. The food itself was good quality & presented well. The staff were also willing to make changes when requested Our overall opinion was one of satisfaction with no real negative views. We would not hesitate to book again if visiting Aosta

I will disclose my preconception (based on experience) first. Italian hotels are very often disappointing for the price paid. It's a hotel market unlike the rest of Europe - out dated, old fashioned style, relatively unchallenged by the positive (and negative) changes brought by the bigger hotel groups over the past 15 years. I would have rated HB Aosta average anywhere else, but I have tipped it up a notch because I really doubt I would have found anywhere better for the price. It is the 3rd hotel that I have stayed at in the Val d'Aosta in the past year, and each has confirmed my experience. Positives: - staff are lovely across the board (except when exasperated by their guests' dietary requirements) - location is fantastic. Right in the old town, but set one alley back meaning a peaceful setting. Be aware that you need to pass through the first set of 'no cars' signs when entering what seems to be a pedestrian street. After 40m, before the full no-entry sign, you turn left down a signposted alley to find the hotel - rooms are functional and modern. Good coffee machines. - late check-out for a reasonable supplement was helpfully agreed. So what are the problems: - it's not cheap. I paid €200 per night for a large room (junior suite). In fairness, all the extras were minimal cost (parking €5, reasonable drink prices, coffee machines on tap etc). Also other hotels in Aosta seem to be pricier than you would expect for a small European city. - 2 mornings out of 4 we had no hot water. That's a big fail for a hotel. - breakfast was OK range, but odd quality. Scrambled eggs were delicious but ranged from tepid to actually fridge cold. Do they make them the night before? - the pillows on the bed were so uncomfortable. Like slabs. One was too few, 2 was too much. Slept v v badly. Strangely, I have rarely seen slab pillows like this except in BOTH the other hotels I stayed at in the Val d'Aosta. Is it a local thing? - the hotel describes itself as 'a new hotel with modern rooms'. It's not new. I would be surprised if it is less than 5 years old, more like 10. The grouting around the bath was black. - set menus for dinner were a hassle. I have big sympathy that we were a group with varying requirements, but this is their business. You just offer a vegetarian alternative for every course. Unfortunately, it just felt much more complicated. I told the hotel 3x that we didn't eat pork. We were served veal. Fried with bacon. Explaining again that we don't eat pork received the reply 'I know. That's bacon'. So no main course for me... Likewise offering octopus on a no-choice menu without a vegetarian alternative is very odd in 2019. Overall, the food quality was OK - but their set menu approach needs thought. I would stay again (possibly bringing my own pillows). I saw nothing better in Aosta, and plenty worse.

Dear Guest, we really thank you for having been with us. We thank you a lot also for spending for us your opinion, that's very important for us! We apologize for the inconvenient with the hot water, as matter of fact during those days, we had some technical problem with the boilers of the hotel, we tried to do our best to solve it in time, but in any case we know that was tedius... About the pillow, we are modifying also this aspect, putting into the rooms 2 different kind of pillows, one softer and one harder in order to try to improve also and better the comfort for our guests, that's very important for us ! For the "bacon", you're right and we are sorry, we will try to understand who thinks that bacon is not pork :) In any case, we look forward to welcome you in a next occasion as our kind guests... We try always to mìdo our best and to improve in any field of our "job" :) Best regards, Gabriella

We booked 3 rooms for our weeks visit Skiing in Pila. This hotel is in a great location only a short walk to the slopes and well located in the old town for bars and shopping. The food was well above our expectations and the service from the staff every day was excellent and a credit to your Hotel. Our thanks for making our week so special

We (2 adults + a 12yr old teenager) stayed in HB Aosta Hotel for three nights during our short ski-trip to Pila. Though we do not have any other hotel to compare with I think that by choosing this hotel for our stay we practically won a jackpot. The location - just a short walk away from Pila airtaxi station and at the same time in the very centre of old town - that was just ideal. We were instructed how to find the hotel and we were aware of limited parking spaces, so - we arrived on Sunday night, parked our car in front of the hotel and never moved it but just for departure. We were accomodated in junior suite that easily fits 3-4 persons and had enough space for ourselves and our stuff. Sleeping quality was excellent - large and comfortable (and new) pillows and king sized blankets are not something you can not find in every 3star hotel. The bathroom was large enough and bathtube was easy to enter and use for quick shower as well. Towels were bright white, soft and large - also something you just do not get even in 4-star hotels. Overall all the spaces in hotel were spotlessly clean and cleaning quality was also excellent. One thing we missed - a trashbin in the room that fits more than two cottonpads. :) But we used small trashbins in the hall with separate parts for plastic and glass. When it comes to this important part of any holiday - dining - the breakfast was just fine and as I understand, compared to average breakfast in Italian hotels - much richer. I'll never understand why in Italy they offer like 10 different cakes for breakfast…. but that's my problem. :) For dinner just take a walk and you'll find dozens of great places with pizza and pasta and there's absolutely no need to eat in the hotel restaurant. We actually bought a bunch of great Italian snacks (and wine) from Carrefour (500 metres away) for late lunch and had a good dinner later at night. We loved everything in HB Aosta. The staff is so kind and friendly and the hotel is modern and clean and definitely offers you the best comfort. During our last day there was a huge festival going on in Aosta old town and we had to move our car a night before our departure approx 1 km away. So be aware of that fact when visiting Aosta this time of the year (Jan, 30th). Whenever we'll plan to return to Aosta, this hotel will be our 1st choice!
