Comparable to a Holiday Inn! But not as roomy and without air conditioning!! The rotating fan in the room didn't have the top so that the fan would stop rotating. Felt like I was walking around the hotel and people were thinking, "why are we all here?"

Response from Waltraud C, Inhaber at Hotel Juliane

Dear Mister Marchase, we are sorry to learn that you did not enjoy your stay at Hotel Juliane. As you can see from the many hundreds of reviews we have collected so far, the vast majority of our guests highly enjoy their stay with us: our high level of service, our cuisine, the wonderful location with the spacious garden and swimming pools and the well kept infrastructures. 70% of our hotel rooms do have air conditioning, you got one of the few without. However, in Merano air conditioning is not standard, because the temperature drops below 20° celsius during the night so it gets comfortably cool. If there was a problem with the fan in your room you should have told us and we would have fixed it. You only stayed one night, most of your guests stay for a week or longer and I can assure you that they definitely DO NOT think "why are we all here?" Otherwise we would not be receiving all these highly positive reviews. Best regards Inderst family
