The location is fantastic - right in the centre of town, but also an easy walk from the station. It's a great base for exploring the city - near to the main square, shops and transport. My room was really quiet, but then it looked over a small indoor area which was not a problem, especially in March when it gets dark early, and with the lively and interesting city, you don't go to Bolzano to sit in your hotel room. Although there isn't a restaurant as such, there are some small dishes that can be eaten in the evening, and for me, the cheese plate was a great solution, with a couple of glasses of wine, of which there is a good selection. Breakfast is good, though it can get a bit crowded in the corner where a good selection of items is laid out. Best of all though were the Weisswurst and a beer, had for lunch before heading to the train station, and which the staff had made sure to keep for me after I mentioned it at breakfast - much appreciated!. I hope to return to Bolzano and will certainly check availability here first.

Pros: The location is great - right next to the main piazza and in the historic center of town, an easy ten minute walk from the train station. The hotel is also very clean. Cons: The room was much, much smaller than I expected for the price. The two twin beds filled the space with a narrow space around either side. Soundproofing was poor. We could hear noise outside both late at night and early in the morning, as well as noise from other rooms. I would recommend requesting a quiet room. There is nothing drastically wrong with this hotel, but it was very expensive for what it was. Hotels in Bolzano seem to be much more expensive than hotels in other parts of Italy. We paid half as much for a comparable (but much quieter) room in Rome. This dorm like room was almost as expensive as a 2 bed/bath suite in Florence overlooking the Duomo. Seeing all the five star reviews here and some of the room photos makes me wonder if we simply had a bad room.

We didn’t have anything booked when visiting beautiful Bolzano. We started our search for two rooms and came upon Hotel Figl. The gentleman at the front desk was charming and invited us to view the rooms prior to booking. We did and immediately signed on the dotted line as the rooms were roomy and clean. We really wanted to get out in the courtyard and enjoy a beverage. We were able to park right in front of the hotel for free! Which was convenient for unloading and loading. We enjoyed several beverages and some good apps prior to going out and exploring the city. That night they had a street festival so it was amazing to be available to experience the city filled with people and music. We ended the night back at the hotel out on the patio for a nightcap. We all had a good night sleep with no disturbances and hot showers in the morning. We enjoyed a nice breakfast buffet prior to heading back to Germany. This is our 2nd visit to Bolzano and will definitely be returning and will stay at Hotel Figl. Very accommodating in the heart of the city.

We stayed overnight at Gasthof Figl. The hotel is well-located near the center of old Bolzano. The staff, particularly the lady on duty in the morning, was very gracious and helpful, and the room was relatively recently renovated, attractive, spacious, and comfortable.

We spent just one night in this family run hotel - it was clean and quiet and we had everything we needed. We enjoyed the big selection of fresh fruit for breakfast. The location can't be topped if it's the city center you want to visit. We parked in the nearby public garage on the Piazza Walther, with which the hotel has a contract, for a reasonable price (16 Euros for 24 hours). The hotel is also a restaurant, other restaurants are nearby, There was a problem with the water pressure in the room, we assume it was fixed after we left, our stay was so short it did not matter to us.
