Tutto molto accogliente e pulito. *Everything very cozy and clean. Amazing home, on a pleasant street and in a comfortable location for tourism. You are near all the main museums and monuments and only 20 min by foot from Torino Porta Nuova Station. Susanna and Andrea are very nice and hospitable. I was traveling alone and they made me feel at home. Bed, shower, food: everything was cool.

"B&B della Rocca" is a little b&b situated near the central points of the city: Piazza Vittorio Veneto, via Po, Mole Antonelliana... So is comfortable for visiting and walking too. Owners are kind and helpful, especially for breakfast and every kind of needs. I've been here just for one night, but rooms are clean and orderly, even if during the night there's some noise because of people (remember that you're near the center of the city). Prices are moderate (I paid 75 Euros for a double room with private bathroom). Perfect for people in search for a comfortable place!

The Bed & Breakfast is located in the center of Turin, right next to the Piazza Vittorio Veneto. Hence it is a great starting point for exploring the city's historic district. A car park is available close to the Bed & Breakfast - which is very helpful, because there are only a few parking spaces in the street which are very expensive. The rooms were more spacious than I expected after seeing the pictures at their website. We were also allowed to use the nice and calm terrace, the living room, the washing machine, and the contents of the refrigerator. A great effort was made by Susanna, the owner, and Flavio, who would cater for us during our stay of five days, to make us feel comfortable. They were also very helpful and provided us with information about Turin. Should we come back to Turin, we would surely stay again at the B&B Della Rocca.

Our stay at the B&B della Rocca was...strange. I should preface this by saying that there weren't any problems and that it was in a nice-sized apartment with a spacious terrace and all of the amenities (and more) that you could need. The strangeness was really about the people that seemed to be coming and going all the time. The B&B has two large bedrooms with baths that are rented out to guests, but a small room and bathroom for the proprietor. We rented both guest rooms as we were traveling with a small child and a friend. Upon arrival, the proprietor was surprised and a little put out that we did not all arrive at the same time (our friend's flight came into Turin later that day). We assured it it was fine and that we would let our friend in when she arrived, and that there would be no problem. Once we straightened that out (in a mish-mosh of English and Italian), she showed us around the apartment. She made a big deal about saying how beautiful the decor was, about how it was the best B&B in all of Turin and that the ambassador to Holland had stayed there last weekend. She wouldn't stop until I affirmatively stated that, yes, it was gorgeous. Let's talk about the decor. It was decorated with what looks like 40 years worth of accumulation of bizarre nicknacks jam-packed into each corner of the place. Bizarre stuff. A red ceramic head. Doileys everywhere. Shabby animal prints in the bathroom. Magazine advertisements framed and on the walls. Margarita glasses filled with rocks. Really, not a big deal, just a little weird. This wouldn't have made an impression if it weren't for the strangers that would come by to hang out. Now, we rented the whole place, so we expected to have the place to ourselves. The proprietor told us off the bat that she didn't live there, that sometimes she slept there, but probably wouldn't be there while we were there. Instead, there was someone named Silvia who came in and out as she pleased, ate, drank coffee and sat on the patio and smoked. A lot. This bugged us. It was a non-smoking apartment and the proprietor asked Sylvia not to smoke. Sylvia didn't care. Because of the way the apartment was arranged, the smoke from the patio came right back into the apartment, even if you closed the doors. There was also a guy with a dog who had his own key to the apartment. He came by once, opened the door, and a big dog bounded in. We love dogs, and it was a sweet dog, but we were quite taken aback. To us, this seemed odd. Perhaps because we are Americans and B&Bs are a little different in the US, we had different expectations. I acknowledge that. But, I was a bit uncomfortable with a steady stream of strangers coming and going. Ok, back to the review. In addition to all this strangeness, there was a heavy perfumed incense odor in the apartment. By the time we left, our noses and throats were raw from the heavy odor. On the positive side, the apartment was very clean and the kitchen well-stocked. Breakfast for the next two days was laid out for us when we arrived. It was mostly stale cereal and baked goods and a bunch of croissants sealed in plastic. Seeing as how we were in Italy, we figured we'd skip the pre-packaged breakfast. There was plenty of food and drink in the refrigerator and cabinets, but we felt uncomfortable using it. At one point the proprietor told our friend that if we used anything from the cupboards we should replace it. We weren't sure if she meant put it back in the cupboard or buy new stuff. We were confused and decided just to buy our own food. Finally, I should speak about location. It is in a nice neighborhood near the river and two blocks from the main square. We were there on a Saturday and Sunday so the neighborhood was completely dead. We couldn't find a pharmacy or a grocery store. It seemed, though, that during the week it might be more lively. Speaking of lively, the only activity on the street was from a decent looking restaurant directly below the B&B. this was a major drawback. Our bedroom was directly above the restaurant, which is open well past midnight, even though its sign says it closes at midnight. The Saturday night of our stay, the restaurant was open until 4am. We could hear the roar of the restaurant coming both from outside the windows as well as up through the ventilation shafts and the pipes in the bathroom. We were up all night. It was a nightmare. The following night, the hullabaloo settled down after about midnight, but needless to say, it was not a great sleeping experience. On the website it says that parking is available, but in fact, it was not. The proprietor told us we could park on the street. In fact, we could not. Fortunately we were able to figure this out before being ticketed and towed. Instead we were able to find parking in a structure about two blocks away.

Response from piemonteadele, Owner at B&B Della Rocca
Responded Feb 19, 2013

------------------------------------------ p.s. Don't be scare to make a change !
