The room was newly decorated up to Hilton standards, yet quite small. The Grill restaurant menu was limited and expensive. We have ordered the beef which was served with potatoes, lacking creativity and taste at the price of 18€, in the grilled mixed vegetables, the eggplant was burned. The hotel charges 2€ service cover charge, but there is no bread or any other amenity justifying that. The menu is over priced based the offer and the quality. The breakfast is also quite limited, the honey individual portions in the service are all crystallized with sugar. The coffee is bitter and the coffee machines were not well adjusted, ending up with over dose of milk in cappuccino and macchiato.
This was a great location for us. We’re no strangers to subway transportation. This is a literal 3-4 minute walk to their subway that goes to the Duomo station. It’s far enough from the main road that the sound of traffic isn’t heard even if your windows are open. Pretty clean and decent breakfast. I’d definitely go back for the convenience and the reasonable price!
We booked a junior suite in this hotel for a weekend stay in Milan. The location is actually very nice, just a 3 mins walk to the nearest metro station and you are downtown in 10 minutes. I would also like to praise the staff. All of them, from the reception to breakfast were great. Very enthusiastic and polite. The room and bed were also up to typical garden inn standards. I am Hilton Gold and have stayed in several of those across the world. Now for the things that did not go very well and slightly spoilt our stay. Firstly, I was missing slippers and bathrobes in the room. I fully understand that those are not provided in the simple rooms, but in my view are a must if you pay the premium one. Another thing that was actually very strange is the lack of wine in a so-called snack corner. Cmon guys, you are an Italian hotel. It is therefore unacceptable to have 3 kinds of beer, but not a single wine. We arrived back at the hotel from dinner and wanted to have a glass before going to bed. The bar was closed at midnight and the snack bar only had beers. Not only customers are unhappy, but you are also missing on ancillary revenue :) I would give them another chance if in Milan, basically because of the super nice staff.…
The staff ar Hilton Garden Inn Milan North was truly delightful. All are very spontaneous and enthousiastic and contribute to a great stay. The receptionists were helpful and kind, but so were the bartender at the on-site restaurant and the room attendants. The breakfast, however, was rather disappointing. Relatively to other Hilton branded hotels, the choice of food was very limited, there was no staff and the quality of the food was not so great. Overall, our stay was very enjoyable!
I was surprised that a four star Hilton hotel would offer such minimum no-frill service. The best thing about this hotel is its free underground parking. Having said that, the hotel is in a remote location and there is literally not much else offered besides the room. I wanted to iron my clothes as it was quite urgent to have it ironed and the hotel refused to bring the iron to my room as apparently the Italian law forbids that. I was directed to a shared laundry room which had two defective irons. I would expect this to happen in a hostel and not in a four star hotel. They had no functioning iron in the entire hotel and there was no laundry service available. There was no water or anything else in the room. Beyond basic for Hilton.
